Just got back from the Doc He is very concerned about my Cholesterol 9.3 HDL 1.39 , Triglyceride 2.44, LDL 6.88 I thought low carb was good for Cholesterol ,about a year ago the doc had no concerns what do you think.The Doc wants to put me on med and change my diet.Total Cholesterol 9.38 Chol:HDL Ratio 6.75,HDL 1.39,LDL 6.88 the meds he suggest is Crestor rosuvastatin calcium tablets

Hi raytraci. Are you still in ketosis? If so, it could be artificially elevating your numbers. There is no evidence that statins actually help anyone except men who have already had a heart attack before age 65, so I'd be hesitant to take them if you feel good. See some of the threads in here for links to the heartscan blog and other resources.

Since he is using the mmol/L units, I used a converter to put them into the mg/dL units most Americans will recognize.

Total Cholesterol:
9.3 mmol/L = 362.7 mg/dL

LDL Cholesterol:
6.88 mmol/L = 268.32 mg/dL

HDL Cholesterol:
1.39 mmol/L = 54.21 mg/dL

Triglerides:
2.44 mmol/L = 217.16 mg/dL
