I am just about ready to scream. I have made two loaves of LC bread. I got the recipes from a low carb cookbook and have followed them (or at least I think I have) to a T, yet both have failed. The first one was a disgusting mess, feel in on its self and didnt bake all the way through. The second one that I tried to make tonight tastes pretty darn good but is about half the size that it should be. Any ideas to help me make my bread making a bit more profitable?

P.S Do the recipes you have contain yeast? Maybe the yeast isn't good & inactive.....therefore not rising properly?

I had that problem with a recipe of mine once and added a couple tablespoons of vital wheat gluten. It really helped. Hope it does for you too.

What is your recipes for lc bread in a bread machine?

Hello. I just bought a bread machine from Amazon.com. It's the Westbend 41077 Just for Dinner Bread Maker. $31.99 makes about a half-loaf of bread in 45 minutes.

I just tried it out right now with CarbSense Harvest Wheat Bread Mix. Zero carbs per slice.

Amazingly good for lc. Nice chewy bread. I live at a high altitude so I added a little water.

The reason I picked this machine is that it got really good ratings, as well as a thumbs up from a low-carber for the bread mixes.

Wish I could do a simple cheap recipe as good as this.

CarbSense Harvest Wheat Bread Mix actually has 3 net grams of carbohydrate per serving. My mistake. Their standard bake mix has zero grams of carbs.
