This site really helps a lot of people get quit and stay quit. I smokedd for 40 years and never thought I would be able to quit, but I did and have been happily quit for 107days. They even track how much money you are saving, how many cigs you haven't smoked, and how much life you have saved. It is peer support and the people are wonderful. http://forums.quitnet.com
I am Mirit over there. I usually post on the Other Addictions Forum because I have been sober in AA 19 years and I also feel food is one of my addictions. I will warn you that the Weight forum has a bunch of WW people who lose and regain, lose and regain. Somebody wrote that she loved WW and had joined it five times. I felt like posting that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. However, I decided to sit on the hands; why start a war?
There are also specialty clubs, like 12 Steppers, Diabetic Quitters...and it is great. Their main forum, the Quitstop, is always busy and where you go when you feel you are really going to cave in.
