Smile Here we go....

Hi folks.

Was so glad to find this forum, and I'm very much looking forward to getting to know you guys.

I was on Atkins once before about 12 years ago and lost 83 lbs on it, which I managed to keep off for about 6 years. Then I started going up again. I am now the heaviest I've ever been and finally getting serious about trying again to get a healthy lifestyle and weight back. I'm tired of being debilitated and demoralized.

My goal weight is 203 pounds from where I began. However, my first goal is 53 lbs. Basically, I'm going to try to look at it in 50 lb increments.

Have been on Atkins for about 20 days, on induction and lost 11.9 lbs. total. Sadly, my time of the month hit on Day 11 (I'd lost 11 pounds by then) and and I have been hovering up and down around the same 3 pounds ever since. Now that behind me I'm hoping the weight loss continues and this wasn't a stagnation that's serious. I'm drinking tons of water and have also incorporated metamucil caplets for some added fiber. If anyone else has any thoughts, please feel free to chime in here. I'm going to try to start a journal here too.

My husband is doing Atkins with me as well.

I'm going to try to start a journal here too.

Wish us luck!

Just wanted to say hello, welcome to the board. Like you, I have done atkins in the past, lost just what you did. It is harder, or at least it was for me, the second time around. I didn't feel the weight fell off like it did the first time.

It sounds like you are doing great.

Thanks so much for your warm welcome mainecyn.
The encouragement means a lot, and it's great to know (though I wouldn't have wished it on you) that someone else has been there.
Congratulations on your current 84% as well, that's phenomenal.
