LCinAust, IMO, it's more important that you're breaking the habit of ignoring thirst, not necessarily hitting an arbitrary target. I'm very much anti-forcing-water myself. If we're not hungry or not thirsty, there's usually a reason. Hope you're feeling well again soon.
