Default Lupie Lupus sufferer, anyone else?

Hi ! I am just checking to see if there are any other Lupus patients out there doing lc-or if I can join with y'all since we have so many similar ailments.I am really excited and hopeful that this plan will work for me-not only for weight loss but in improving my health and how I feel. Hope everyone one is finding themselves well today.
Peace,
Red

Default Hello Out There

I was just diagnosed w/Lupus in May. I'm waiting 4 my complete blood work to be complete. Dr has prescribed Prednisone. I just can't bring myself to take it. Everybody I know has blown up like a balloon on this medicine and I am just not comfortable with any type of steriod. I'm wondering if being in ketosis on induction would overcome the increased hunger from the steriod.

I've heard that some people can maintain on Atkins while on prednisone, or so someone posted here. Some do gain though, but it is MUCH better on low carb than high carb. Weight loss is pretty unlikely though, from what I've heard.

Have you guys thought about trying Paleo diet? I've sure had a lot of success with it and my autoimmune disease.

I found a testimonial from a lupus sufferer on the web today who swore by the enzyme supplement "Wobenzym". This is a product originating from Germany and has been around since the 1960s.

The lady in question had noticed marked improvements after using this supplement.

Maybe if you Google "lupus" and "Wobenzym", you'll find the reference yourself. I have been reading tons of stuff about it and it sounds amazing.

It's worth a try and certainly has fewer side-effects than steroids.

Good luck!
