Default Rev Roll Tiramisu

I cannot believe I waited this long to try this...tiramisu is my favorite dessert, and this was a very reasonable substitute.

1 rev roll
1 TBL DV Khalua-flavored syrup or strong sweet coffee, more to taste, divided
1/4 C heavy cream, whipped to soft peaks with vanilla and sweetener, divided
1 tsp cocoa powder

I took a 6 ounce ramekin and poured a tsp of DV Kahlua-flavored syurp into the bottom and swirled it around. You could also use sweetened, strong coffee, I'm sure. Then I pressed a soft rev-roll into the ramekin and poked holes into it with a fork. I drizzled 2 tsp more syrup over it and let it soak in. I whipped 1/4 C of heavy cream to soft peaks with vanilla and stevia (you can use splenda, too), and I spread half of that over the cake (save the rest for later. Then I dusted the top with cocoa powder, and put it in the fridge for 1/2 hour.

it came to 176 calories, 2.1 g carbs + 0.5 g fiber, 5.1 g protein and 16.7 g fat.

If you have the ability to whip 2 T of cream, by all means do so. I just can't whip less than 1/4 C with the mixer and bowls that I have!

Default Speaking of tiramisu ...

What a coincidence, that's what I had this evening. I've had that recipe for low-carb tiramisu in my recipe collection since I began lowcarbing (can't remember where I got it). Never tried it until today. It was absolutely superb! Even hubby was jealous! Had to make sure and put away the rest, otherwise I'd have eaten the entire thing!

I made a substitute for the mascarpone with cream cheese, sour cream and liquid whipping cream. I baked the cake fingers from scratch with ground almonds and eggs.

I made this last night and just loved it! The only thing I did differently is that instead of sprinkling it with cocoa powder I put just a touch of Walden Farms SF chocolate syrup on top. Delish!!!! Thanks Elle!!

I'm really glad you liked it. I am totally shocked at how wonderful a base these rev rolls make for a "cake!"
