Default Tell me what to use coconut oil for

Costo had some that was cold pressed, so I bought a container of it. I keep reading how healthy it is but I don't have any idea of what to use it for.

Take a taste of it and see how coconutty it is. If it isn't too coconutty then you can use it for anything. If it is coconutty then you could use it for things where you don't mind the flavor so much, like baking low carb goodies perhaps.

Or you could make coconut bark, put it in your coffee and drink a hot oil slick, use it on your skin. Or you could buy some unsweetened coconut and blend them together to make coconut manna, which I think is yummy.

It's used for frying in my house - it melts in the pan just like butter or lard. It's very good in curries and any oriental food. I also melt it and stir it into almond meal and coconut flour to make crumbly toppings.

I make a coconut curried chicken with it. I use it to fry the chicken - usually use skin on thighs, season with curry powder, and carefully cook in the coconut oil. T'is nummy.

I am not a fan of coconut flavor so I buy the refined that is basically tasteless.

I LOVE to fry with it. It's great for things like eggs or things like turkey sausage that doesn't have enough fat on it's own to cook in but you don't want to change it's flavor.

I also really like it in my coffee with a couple of drops of ez sweetz. I don't mind the 'oil slick' but it did take a little getting used to at first. If you add a splash of HWC to it I think it tastes amazingly like the cappuccinos I used to buy!

As it can withstand higher cooking temps it's good to use half and half with butter when cooking as butter burns so easily.
