Would have been fascinating if they had added a third leg to the study (lTRF) or late TRF to compare the same 6-hour Windows at either end of the day. I typically have my first of two meals around noon and my last around 5:30. I feel comfortable doing that with positive results, but while this study showed the benefits of eTRT compared to an 8-hour eating window, we still don't know whether the time of day of one's eating window has an influence. I've always thought Jean's approach makes sense. I just never feel like eating that early.

I too find breakfast the easiest meal to skip.

Actually feel more full in morning than after eating meals. Making snacking in the evening a problem to manage.

Reread article.

This is still confusing.

Time-restricted eating also increased the levels of a gene called SIRT1 which is nicotinamide adenosine dinucleotide (NAD)-dependent deacetylase that promotes insulin secretion and action; upregulates fat metabolism; protects against inflammation, oxidative stress, and DNA damage; increases telomere stability, and extends lifespan in animals.

Increases insulin. When and what is benefit?

This IF is new to me, but I found that I have been sort of doing it unconsciously this past year by eating on my husband's schedle, and I have lost 40 pounds. I do eat breakfast, then I eat a late lunch, anywhere from 2-4. Since I eat lunch so late I am not hungry at dinner time. If I eat anything, it is usually some cheese or meat. After learning about IF I am trying to push my breakfast later in the morning, but so far I am eating between 8-3. I am losing slowly but steadily.
