I love my instant pot. I've had one for 10+ years. I think I'm on my 2nd one. I keep melting the lids by forgetting them on the stove top then using my oven. /sigh

Hi Lissa. If I were buying over again, I would go one size down (I have an 8 QT) because it's just the two of us, and it's a pain to store in my tiny kitchen. Another consideration that didn't exist at the time was that they don't make an air fryer lid for my model. I ended up buying a different brand of lid, but I'm happy with it.

I don't really think you can go wrong, even if you buy a different brand. Just consider what you want to do with it, how big your family is, and storage space in your kitchen.

I would recommend reading comments on Amazon for whatever models you're looking at, even if you're going to shop in-store somewhere.

*ETA - I previously said mine was a 6QT. The inside of the pot is clearly labelled 6L/6Qt, but it's sold as 8QT and IP confirmed that the model number is 8QT. There's no way I could get 8 QTs of anything into that pot. 8 QTs of steam, maybe?
