DAY 11 July 26, 2012
Weight 150.2*
Fasting Glucose 80 –Lowest in a long time.

1721 Calories
31 g carbs (17 net)
63 g protein
155 g fat

*I will give this a week and then look at lowering calories. I would like to lose 5- 10 more pounds. This is not the reason for this test, but might as well use this process!
+++
Been doing some thinking while at gym. I cooked some chicken breasts earlier in week and have been having them in salads for dinner this week. I have been pushing the protein on myself - more than I probably need for hunger, and will start lowering it today and see what happens to weight. I think I was losing when protein was lower. If that does not work, then I look at calories.

Hello Arlene and all. I've been reading a few threads as I'm new and this is my first post. I am most interested in your experiment and trying new tricks. I've been lowcarb for nearly 2 years and have been doing Atkins induction and can't go up the "rungs" without gains. So, this is very interesting.

How does one "subscribe" to your thread so it's easy to find again?

Good job!!!!!

Shellie

Um, I don't think you're subscribed unless you have that set in your user options.

You can go to Thread Tools on the top right and subscribe there.

DAY 12 July 27, 2012
Weight 150.2 *
Fasting Glucose 90
Fasting Ketones .5*

1805 Calories
45 g carbs (25 net)
65 g protein
159 g fat

*It is interesting to see the scale say the same number for three days now. And the ketones are a bit lower, but I am still in Nutritional Ketosis. This is all part of the 'adjusting' that is said in the book that takes place for two weeks or so after NK is reached.
I started on a lower amount of protein yesterday, and woke up this morning with a headache, and icky mouth again. I am taking my ¼ tsp of salt in am, but it looks like I need to add it back in before bed as well, with my magnesium

You can subscribe to any thread where you post, but then in "Edit Options" turn off all email notifications. Instead just check your own User CP for Subscribed Threads and read what has been posted from there.

Yes. Any thread I post to I'm automatically subscribed to, but I long ago changed my settings not to get email. They just show up in User CP whenever there's a new post. But thanks for the tip, Nancy. I was able to subscribe to this thread without - using the thread tools. Didn't know about those. Of course, now I've posted, so I didn't need to subscribe under thread tools, but I've been reminding myself to come back and check this thread every day, because I didn't have anything to say, and I didn't know how to subscribe without saying something.

DAY 13 July 28, 2012
Weight 150.6*
Fasting Glucose 89

1713 Calories
37 g carbs (25 net)
63 g protein
150 g fat

*After waking up yesterday with a headache and other symptoms, I gave in and took my ¼ tsp salt before bed. I did expect the gain, but was still disappointed to see it, ya know? Anyway, I haven't done anything to knock me out of NK but we will see tomorrow.

My protein is low, and I find I have been forcing myself to add fat to keep calories up. I am going to eat to my hunger, keeping fat high, for a week and see what happens.
