Default Is it better to take L-Carnitine with meals or on an empty stomach?

I've heard both from 2 different people already.

Hi Kristy,

According to the info I have found, it should be taken on an empty stomach.
Quote:
For best absorption, L Carnitine should be taken on an empty stomach -- half an hour before a meal, right before a workout or a couple of hours after eating.

Quote:
Acetyl-L-carnitine may have a stimulating effect, therefore, it may be unwise to take it in the evening.

Acetyl-L-carnitine is most effectively utilized when taken on an empty stomach with water or juice, in divided dosages 30-45 minutes before breakfast and lunch

Cheers.
