I noticed a difference with the Relora and nothing with the Relacore. The Relacore has dhea in it as well (and was more expensive...but I have seen it for less than 20 at Walmart lately). I have been using the NOW brand and have been very happy with it. I notice my midsection reduces quite a bit within a few days. When I run out and my stress levels go up again (ok, they are always up), my tummy comes back. I just ordered 3 more bottles online (much cheaper than at my GNC).

Question Seriphos

I have tested continuosly high for cortisol (saliva test, blood test & 24 hour urine). I just started taking Seriphos two weeks ago. The first week I noticed a difference in energy. I wasn't as tired in the evenings. But I felt sort of stange. The second week I felt exhausted all the time, barely being able to stay awake past 8pm. And I feel sort of "depressed". No drive, no energy... can't smile or get excited about anything. Has anyone else experienced this with the Seriphos or similar type product. I'm wondering if it is just temporary as the hormones shift? Thanks.

Hi, earthlink.

No, i haven't tried that but I think you should search it on the web.

But, I would think it couldn't be selective about when it worked. Cortisol naturally should rise a couple times a day, and I would think your med would keep that from happening right, so that is probably why you feel washed out.

DId your dr. prescribed anything for stress release? Or did he/she just give you a pill?

Cortisol should be at its highest around 8:00 a.m., and start rising again around 10:00 pm. (so that you can wake up in the a.m.) If you had a 24 hour test, it should show exactly what yours is doing. That may be a good place to start. Is it getting to high at the high times, or just staying high when it should be lowering, etc. Maybe you need to opt for something else, but not without talking to your doctor.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, the high cortisol is a tricky thing. I started a year ago and the changes made were mostly diet and lifestyle. I added in yoga and meditation. A year ago it appeared the adrenals were exhausted. Now the cortisol is actually high. I'm working with several doctors at Kaiser (as cortisol can be pituitary or adrenal), an acupunturist, and a nutritionist. The nutritionist suggested the Seriphos, which is phosphotated serine. It is nearly the same as Phosphatidyl Serine, except it's already broken down (I think the body takes away two atoms during digestion to turn Phosphatidyl Serine into Phospholated Serine)... so the understanding is that it's more bio-avaliable. I have a call into my nutritionist regarding the symptoms, but as it was the weekend and I found this (great!) forum, I thought I'd put it out there too. Another thing I left in my message for the nutritionist is that I want to do the exact 4x cortisol test you mention. I did do it a year ago, but don't know where those levels are today... Kaiser only does the AM and the 24 Hour. I agree with you, it would be good to know where my levels sit at each point throughout the day. I was inspired by the website and did order Relora and OOO. More energy would be great. I didn't have a lot of energy or stamina even before trying the Seriphos. But, I think I'm going to stop everything until I get the 4x cortisol tests back... and then work again on lowering what needs it from there. Thanks again for the reply!
