Hi, Janet. I'm sorry about your friend, and your dog.

I, too, find reading and posting helpful.

Congrats on your reset program.

Best wishes to you.

Thank you Em.
You are very nice.
Yesterday was a reset day.at 129{ Today is going to be another good low cal. day with healthy foods.
And just keep this going even though Not many days till new month. But instead of waiting for Aug. just do something now.
Only I can do it and It would be bad just to get fat again and loose what I have done last 5 years.
I was so good until This year and more slips.
I just put on my black skirt I got in Nov.{and it is a 4p. and fits great.
I have so many diet and health books.
But no matter what plan we do. Depends on you and no or few slips.
I may Next month do If{ That is easier way to fast for me. I did 7 day pure fasting and just to much. I seem to be able whenif do 18-20 hr. window.
Just have to keep those cals. 1,000 for while.
Have a good day.
Short goal now is to take off what I put back on and get and stay on track.
Then My other goal is 110 lbs and see were I go from there.
But it does help me to post

I lost 4 lbs in 3 days end of July.
I had to reset and get this mind and body on track, I did great for last 5 years. But for this year more slips .
But Now This is New month and I have already reset. I just will keep head and heart in this.
I was 124 for Aug.But gained , Now that I have taken 4 of those 5 lbs off. Not bad for going into new month with 1 lb. gain.
Also thinking about joining friends and husband walk the Grand cannon.{I have never done that. We will see, So I better get this body more fit and start walking.

Janet, do you feel recovered from the gall bladder surgery? I hope you are doing well.

I've been trying to put more variety in my food plan, as I've felt for some time that I needed more micronutrients. It's tricky to get the balance of foods just right, without triggering appetite. It was easier to avoid whole categories. Eating more variety means, for me, more allergy/intolerance reactions, along with getting more of the micronutrients.

Reading and experimenting.

Best wishes to you.

Hi, I am in my 70's, so I qualify for this thread. lol.

I wanted to say I recently went the other way: less variety of foods, at least temporarily. I have an Atkins shake for breakfast, also eggs in butter, Atkins frozen dinner for lunch alternating with a burger every other day. Fill in with a Kind protein bar. Then I don't eat till morning again.

The reasons for this are--the heat--will not turn the oven on (or slowcooker). Also, I seem to be tired of trying to figure out what to eat every day that is suitably low-carb.

This also will lower my daily carbs to hopefully speed up my weight loss.

When I don't have to cook for a family, this is how I would eat on many days. Simple as possible. Staying out of the kitchen also helps me not eat that much.

It all seems like it really matters what type of foods choices we make. And I say calaries and protions matter for me.
Keep carbs down{ But I do have healthy carbs and I limit and have good healthy fats.We have to get in exercise also.
I also think and do{Have to get back into it.* Detoxing.
I do that with sauna and steam room. But I also eat most time same things.
and I have restarted If{Instead of true hard fasting.
My biggest thing now is to get and stay on track and get this weight moving down.and watch those bad carbs{We all know what they are.The key really comes down to 2 things{I think. Mind set and will power to keep fighting.

Hi, Ladies.

Yes, the heat makes my food choices simple, too.

I do have some cooking for others, which reinforces my cool choices for myself. Tuna or salmon with a bit of cold pesto, or mayo. Some kind of marinated veg. Perhaps a few frozen cherries or berries. Tea and milk/cream. Sometimes HB egg yolks, or some cooked eggs. Though I do cook some things to eat cold: chicken livers coming up soon.

There is a saying I've been thinking of the last few days.

"We walk in the direction in which we look.
We must look where we want to go."

For me that means drawing the line with love.

Best wishes to you for a nice start this week.
