A new study demonstrates that olive oil and red
wine contain specific phytochemicals ( oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol, and resveratrol) that can inhibit platelets from sticking to the lining of blood vessels, especially damaged ones. Researchers concluded these specific phytochemicals may be a key component in the Mediterranean diet, with it’s lowered risk of heart disease.
