Default Protein Powder

I recently started strength training and was thinking a protein shake post workout might be helpful. However, I notice A LOT of them are pretty high in carbs, does anyone have any suggestions for a low carb powder that tastes decent? It doesn't have to taste GREAT but it has to be tolerable!

There was a thread a few weeks ago with suggestions. I use MetRx (vanilla has 3G) because can buy in my local Trader Joes', but someone else recommended IsoPure Zero Carb banana as being less sweet. I ordered it on-line from Vitamin Shoppe, tastes good.

I purchased the ON gold Standard Whey Chocolate flavour from vitacost....(yuck) 3 carbs... worse purchase to date. Im thinking once I order some Davinci it might make it more tolerable.

Over in the UK we have PHD Diet, a 50g serving (with water) has 4 carbs. Its lovely and thick and tastes excellent. Tend to use it for pancakes.

I like GNC Egg protein and most times with a bit of HWC mixed in, maybe 2 tbls per 25g.

They all have some sort of sweetener in them so you do have to be aware.

I do unflavored, unsweetened whey protein and then add my own flavors and sweeteners. I sweeten with Kal brand stevia (no after taste) put some almond, hazelnut, coconut or other extract or perhaps no-sugar chocolate syrup and add some low-carb ice cream if I want to make it thicker. Mix with a hand blender.

I don't make them anymore, but for years they were a meal substitute for me.

I also did soy protein for a while (it comes out thicker) but it had to be non-GMO soy and that is sometimes hard to find.

I did some research on a protein replacement for meat, which I have to reduce/eliminate due to kidney disease.

ON a LCHF diet I obviously am not having fatty meats (boohoo) so I was turned off any whey that is cheap as it is quite processed, sugars, carbs, all prettied up, by the dietitian.

You get what you pay for, and this is what money is for..your life/health.

Since this is critical to me I found Warrior force..super documented pure processing, dark glass jar, it costs $25. for 10 2tbl servings and has 16gr. pro 4.5carbs. 1 s. I mix it in a kale/cuke/blueberry shake (use other veggies too) and have no problem with 'taste' complainers need to go back to McDonald's carb faux shakes. (I also add fresh ground flaxseeds and 'grit' is a small part of overall benefit!)

https://healthforce.com/warrior-force This naturapathic Doc can be as hippie-eco-wise as he wants..I WANT a clean, pure product, and will pay for it. HFS has it for $29.-39…but buy online direct for $25.

Since calling them I may switch to another of their protein products for my SPECIFIC, non-bodybuilding needs.

Terra's Whey is also quite pure..more to chose from

I am pretty sold on Hemp protein powders are they have the amino acids, and are a complete amino veggie food..which I need vs meat. for day digestion/kidney processing.
