I kjnow this sounds nuts and even when I say it, I can't believe it, but I don't know what else to think. I've been having a major flare for 2-3 weeks now and the only thing that I can think of tht I did that I don't do every day was to give blood. Just wodered if anyone knew anything of this. Thanks.

I've never had a flare from giving blood. But, I wouldn't be surprised if someone does. While everyone has well-known, expected triggers, it seems that almost anything that throws you out of balance, can potentially cause a flare.

I had to quit giving blood due to a 3 month flare after I'd given the last time. Knew I was stretching it to the limit when I gave.

I had a Mamogram on the 28th of July and it sent me into a flare, I think it was because the Mamo was so painful.
Some people can be sensitive to loss of blood, so I think anything is possible with Fibro....

Did you eat the cookies and juice they give you after giving blood?

No, I always eat breakfast right before giving. I gave again since then and again had another flare up. I also had a really bad flare up when I went to get dental work done...one of the worst ones I've ever had. I seem to be more sensitive lately for some reason.

I feel like I have been in a constant flare ever since being diagnosed a few months ago...BUT I was eating terrible, gaining weight, compleatly out of wack. Friday I started back on low carb, and Phen...had felt decent for a few days...then today Im sooo tired, in soo much pain, headaches..the whole 9 yards. The only thing I can figure is my body is detoxing from all the crud I put into it, and also, it turned really cold here in the last day and a half. I am still learning alot about this, and any info anyone else can give me about flares, or fibro in general would be greatly appreciated! Thansk, Cindy
