Hi guys,
Malindi your menu sounds great! Your TOM is probably going to make a huge difference and awesome job avoiding the pizza...this is what I have eaten today and am planning to eat tonight:
b-9:00am
14 ounce coffee w/1 tsp. cream and 1 sweetn'low
3 eggs (2 white and 1 whole egg) hardboiled and mixed w/1 T, mayo
2 Sugar Free/Nitrate Free Turkey Hotdogs

*ok...I was still hungry (I get up really early and eat breakfast really early), so at about 11:00am I had a tiny bit of plain chicken (maybe 2 ounces)

l-2:00pm
cheeseburger with 4 strips of bacon...not sure I should have had the cheese, but it was at a diner and I am sure it was just one slice? We'll see...

d-8:00pm
probably another burger? or plain chicken...

Maybe I just eat way too much??? I have no idea, but I am hoping for a nice big weekend whoosh....lol! I try not to eat so late, but on Friday I always meet my husband for dinner when he leaves work...Have a great weekend everyone and thanks for the motivation/advice
Jenna

Jenna your menu looks good to me even with the cheese and I don't think you are eating too much. Remember its the carbs that have to stay under 5g. Good Luck this weekend I hope you at least lose some inches.

Hi guys,
Stacie, your menu looks great...how do you make the shrimp scampi? I hope everybody else is doing well. Today is my second 'official' day on the fast too. No major loss yet, but I don't have a lot of energy...I cut my workout short this morning, but living in a city I walk a ton everyday. Hopefully, I'll get past this energy hump in a few days (I am going to end the fast Monday or Tuesday by adding some veggies)....anyways, here is what my menu looks like today...sorry to be boring, but it helps me to write it out...plus, I love seeing other people's menu's...
b-
14 ounce coffee w/1 tsp. cream and 1 sweetn'low (3 net carbs?)
2 Sugar Free/Nitrate Free Turkey Hotdogs (0 net carbs)
3 hardboiled eggs (2 whites, 1 whole egg) mixed with 1T. mayo (1.2 net carbs)

l-
8 ounce hamburger w/1 slice american cheese and 2 strips of bacon (1 net carb)
*wouldn't have had the cheese again, but I ate out and couldn't resist..*

d-
8 ounces ground top sirloin w/mustard (0 net carbs)

*emergency snack....sugar free/nitrate free turkey dogs or sliced roastbeef sandwich meat

Thumbs up

This sounds interesting. I have a terrible time losing weight. I'm in my first week of Atkins, and if I haven't lost anything after the two week induction, then I'll try meat & eggs and see if it will give my body the kick in the butt it needs!

Thanks!

Just wanted to make quick check in because I sat down to check my email...anyways, I ate more than I planned today...I won't bore you guys with the details...but my carbs stayed at 5, 2% of my day....my calories went up to 1300!!!! WOW! That is the most calories I have consumed in a long time....(I hope it doesn't mess me up)

....OK....tomorrow I will let you know how it goes. I just hope I don't gain!!! I'm probably the only person who could find a way to gain weight on a fast---lol!

Malindi...
One thing I also snuck two slices of cheese in today. I really like cheeseburgers I guess. Hopefully that won't mess anything up....have you lost anything yet?

Unhappy

Hi Jenna,

WOW,you think 1300 cal is a lot That's about as much as I eat everyday..on another forum they told me that I eat "too little" and that maybe the reason I'm not loosing. BTW I got on the scale this morning and guess what?? after 8 days on Atkins my weight is exactly the same as it was on day 1. I thought I will give it another week and see or maybe I should up my calories to 2000 maybe that will make me loose some weight. Enough complaining already...I have some chicken to cook and another day on meat and eggs.

Malindi,
Hang in there! I got on the scale today and still no budge for me either...? Oh well, I'm not going to give up on the egg/meat fast yet. Tomorrow I am visiting my parents for a few days, so my mom will kick my ass if I don't eat veggies...lol! I'm 25, but she is still the boss! So tomorrow I am going to back to a strict induction...the only difference is that I am going to try to stay at around 10 carbs. I just don't want to gain weight because the meat fast. I am hoping tomorrow morning I will see the difference.

Right now I am at a weight that my metabolism is used to....have you heard about or read anything about your metabolic memory? Are you at a weight where you spent a lot of time in the past? I once read that your body/metabolism has places where they are comfortable? So it takes longer to budge from those places? It's an interesting theory...

Anyways, I don't know why you are not losing??? It seems like you are doing everything perfectly....some people take a longer time to adjust though. Do you know if you are in ketosis? Hang in there and eat those meat eggs!!!!

Well today was my third day on the meat/egg fast, so far so good. I think I will do it for 2 more days since my appetite has decreased.

Todays Menu:

B- 2 hardboiled eggs
- Small Chicken Breast

L- 1 Hamburger pattie w/ Mustard

D- 1 Hamburger pattie w/ Mustard

I know, I know it was a boring menu today, but it worked!

I weigh in tomorrow, so I will let you know how I did.

I read this post last week and decided since I had slowed down so much that I would try the egg and meat thing. I did it faithfully fri-sat-sun and lost 4 lbs.! And since I had been non-cheat and 20-40g per day and with almost 100 lbs. more to go, I figured I should be losing faster. What this tells me is that there must be something that's stalling me. So I will gradually add, but carefully monitor. I'm adding a salad this week, but no more. I suspect several things... too much cheese, aspartame, too many <1 carb additions, etc. I just may need to keep it simple for a while.

But I do believe, now... The egg and meat fast works!
