Hi Diane, welcome!

I've seen gluten flour in Coles and Woolworths here in Brissie.. Look with the flours and baking products, or in the "health" section. You need one that is 70% gluten. I believe Healtheries, Sanitarium and Lowan Whole Foods make gluten flour.

If you don't find it in your local supermarket, try "letting your fingers do the walking." Ring a few supermarkets, and if you still have no joy, ring a few health food shops. Good luck!

Smile Gluten Flour

Hi Dizzydi,
I am also in Adelaide and if I am searching for anything special I go to a shop in the Central Market Arcade called Goodies and Grains. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. They sorted out for me about Whey and Soy protein powder and protein isolate etc. Bought some almond flour (meal) there recently when I was experimenting with a flourless orange cake recipe. Could be worth a phone call to them if you are a bit out of the city. Good luck.

Hi
I live on Bribie Island north of Brisbane , and strangely enough I was looking at a packet of gluten flour just yesterday afternoon and thinking "what the heck would you use that for?". It was in our local IGA supermarket in the flours section where they keep ground rice, cornflour and stuff. If you have an IGA chain in S.A. there might be a national product database they could check.. also remember that a lot of chemists sell health foods and they all purchase from warehouses. If you have a health-foody-type chemist in your area they could at least check their warehouse for you.

cheers

Michael Gardner

ps. Oat flour could probably be made nicely by whizzing up a couple of cups of oatmeal or even rolled oats in the blender.
