Default Anaerobic workout routines

I am trying to gain muscle mass and improve insulin resistance. When I was eating lots of whole grains in the past, I put on muscle fairly easily even though I was not eating meat or dairy. I got sick a few months ago and have been trying to get back on my feet. One thing I am interested in is having a balanced upper and lower body workout that is anaerobic in nature. Does anyone have any routines that work well for you and if so, I would appreciate if you could share. Thanks in advance.

I lost a bunch of weight low carbing (Atkins)... I upped carbs and started lifting weights. I am eating low carb again and am interested to know how you eat when you lift? Do you carb cycle? Eat carbs after workouts? I want to keep the muscle I have and decrease fat...
