Default teriyaki: is it safe?

Ugh. i was with a friend who had wanted chinese for lunch- and when i say chinese, i mean the greasy, high carb and sugar joints. the sweet and sour sauce is pink and loaded with sugar, and even the the beef and brocoli is ladened with MSG and flour.

i thought perhaps the beef teriyaki was safe(r), but it tasted sweet, and i had to leave it alone. i am completely unable to find help from fitday. there is no resaurant website or nutritional info available.

my question is, i guess, what is the meat marinated in, and how many carbs can be added by marination? im guessing a lot.

thanks for the help.

Atkins recommends in the book for Chinese choices:
Egg drop soup
shrimp sizzling platter
stir fried pork with garlic sauce
beef with Chinese mushrooms
chicken with walnuts....I order with almonds
If you are on induction stick to dishes that are stir fried, steamed or broiled and ask for sauces to be served on the side.
I always ask for NO MSG

You can always ask google

There are worse choices...like that pink sauce.

Oh btw When I special ordered at my chinese takeout I got my chicken and brocolli stirfried in a hot/spicy oil-better then original.
But when I wanted egg flower soup she told me it was full of cornstarch-since I had said no starches she won't let me have it.

What is the CHinese symbol for Soup Nazi? lol
