But down on all kinds of other seaweeds. Vegan maybe.

Look at these remarks:
"Avoid Kombu due to excessive iodine
Avoid Kelp due to excessive iodine"

Excessive is only excessive if you consume too much. I think he's part of the iodine is dangerous mantra that a lot of them still continue.

Excessive iodine doesn't make sense when that's what most are looking for, the seaweed with the most iodine like in all of the supplemets. Especially when we are coming from a state of deficiency. You're right he is vegan so he must be eating it so wants a lower level.

I read a list of Seaweed a couple of days ago and this might of been one that was way down the totem pole for iodine.

It was what the store had, and there's other micronutrients in it. Of course, vegans believe they get plenty of protein from tofurkey so scratch that article. I will continue researching.

The one I bought which is at WF and Sprouts and ebay etc...
has : 400 msg of iodine from 600mg of Kelp thallus

Okay, found the brand of dulse online (because a cat is STILL on my lap) and here are the stats:

Low temperature dried dulse (Palmaria palmata)

Supplement Facts
Serving Size: 1/3 cup (7 g)
Serving per bag: 8
Amount/Serving %DV*
Calories 18
Calories from Fat 0
Total Fat 0 g 0%
Saturated Fat 0 g 0%
Cholesterol 0%
Sodium 122 mg 5%
Potassium 547 mg 16%
Total Carbohydrate 3 g 1%
Dietary Fiber 2 g 9%
Sugars 0 g

Calcium <2%
Iron 15%
Riboflavin 8%
Vitamin B6 30%
Vitamin B12 8%

For 1/3 of a cup. Haven’t tried it yet, but supposedly it has a bacony, cheesy, flavor? And I see it as a condiment, not a meal.

Is it in a flaky form to use as a condiment?
