Default Christmas party menu???

Hi all, I am going to have a Christmas party and I want the menu to be all low carb. I don't want the guests to know that I am doing a low carb thing, because I don't want the fun festive party to turn into a diet debate. And I don't want to have to be eyeing the cakes, pies and cookies all night long. Any ideas on a menu??????

Hi Amy,

If you can get a hold of Low-Carb Energy Magazine's November (holiday) issue, I have an article - with recipes - in it on holiday entertaining.

I would suggest that you do serve bread/crackers though to really fool them. Wings, satay, devilled eggs, guacamole, Feta and Olive Meatballs, LC cheesecake with this crust, Low-Carb Tiramisu, and Sugar Plums will all keep them guessing too.

Thanks guys! I will try those. They sound awesome. I KNOW they won't have any idea that it is low carb. That way I won't have to worry about cheating and my mind can stay on more important things....my friends and family!

Did I hear something about low carb egg-nog? If so, how does it taste?

Thanks!
Amy

Default low carb egg nog

I know it's not a recipe but I just saw today in fact where Turkey Hill has a low carb eggnog coming out. It's part of their "carb iq" line. Never was a big eggnog fan but any new lowcarb product catches my attention. I'm just rapt at the "BIG" companies jumping on the wagon! LOL!

BTW, dunno if this is sold all over but here in MD we have the turkey hill products since they're based in PA.

There are probably a hundred ways to make low-carb egg nog. Here's how I do it: One cup Carb Countdown milk
One cup Eggbeaters
Liquid sweetener to taste
Nutmeg and Cinnamon to taste

I LOVE egg nog

We always do the following-

Marinate shrimp in whatever spicy mixture you like.
Put a small slice of jalapeno next to a piece of shrimp and wrap in bacon. Secure with a toothpick and broil until bacon is crisp. SO good and low carb! Everyone loves these at our annual holiday party.
