Default I'm sure it's been mentioned before: Green Coffee Bean Extract

I've been reading up on green coffee bean extract.. and unlike many people I did not see it on Dr Oz, as I don't watch his program. I first saw it as a huge display in my local Whole Foods a month or so ago and it peaked my interest.

I'm not one to take diet pills because I've found that I have severe reactions to many of them and it's not worth it. But after much research, reading good and bad reviews, I decided to give it a try.

I picked up a bottle yesterday morning and took my first dose at lunch, and another at dinner. 800mg per dose, no additives. Then, I continued my day as usual with no noticeable side effects at all. I've been stuck at the same weight now for almost a month and the scale simply would not budge. However, this morning I was down a pound. I do weigh every morning, so I would've seen any change if it had happened beforehand.

Be it coincidence and it was just time for the plateau to break overnight, or that the GCB really does help.. I do not know. However, I will be continuing the GCB for awhile.

Any one have any experiences with GCB Extract?

If it worked that fast, it's just water weight. See if it continues over weeks or months, if it does, then that is fat.

I must get 10 Spam emails a day advertising this product. That alone makes me very suspicious.

I did some reading on this and it seems that the product has to contain SVETOL for it to be effective. They don't all have it.
Does the one you got have it?

Good luck with it.

The one I have doesn't not say the word 'svetol' but it does say "standardized to 50% chlorogenic acids", whatever that means.

Down another 0.6 lb this morning. So, if it's coincidence.. great. But I'm going to finish out the bottle at the very least and see if the loss continues.

I've been doing Atkins for a while, and this is my 2nd go with it. My typical weight loss is 3-4 lbs in a week, then I won't lose anything for 2-3 weeks, then another 3-4 lbs over the course of another week. It's the strangest thing, but that's how it's always been.

I'd like to think this stuff is working, but I'm also smart enough to know that it may not be. I am seeing a huge difference in 'bathroom time' and it's for the better. Diet is the same.. always the same. lol

I am intrigued too - especially as there is another thread here showing that there are scientific (small, with problems, in India) studies. It suggests though that the mechanism is via blocking absorption of carbs, so it should not work well on a low carb diet. The study shows a diet of 53% carb, 16% protein, rest fat - that is likely the Southern Indian, mostly vegetarian diet.

I would love you who tried to comment. I bought such a product but keep forgetting to eat it 30 min before a meal....
