Ok, so July didn't work out so well..... Let's try August.

So far I'm pretty good for almost any day.

Others?

Just heard from my brother - he's planning on visiting for a couple of days early August so the first week is probably a no-go for me, and in the last week we have a stamp show in Alberta so that'll be out as well. Other than that, we have nothing planned but we're making unscheduled trips to Nanaimo with "stuff" to store at our daughter's (getting ready for our move), and I don't know yet when I'll be able to get a dentist appointment to finally get the teeth replaced - I'm seeing him on the 24th of this month to "discuss options" so I'll probably have a better idea after that. I have a feeling that dentists are very busy during the summer with school kids and especially teachers wanting their work done during their "off-time", so I'm sure not going to turn down any available appointment time!

The way it looks right now, any day between the 7th and the 24th (except Tuesdays, and preferably not Wednesdays) is open. Whew! All those caveats make me feel as if I'm being very difficult

And thanks all of you for your kind wishes and e-cards on our anniversary! We had a wonderful weekend doing exactly what we wanted with our family and closest friends - our daughter and s-i-l thought they wanted to throw a big, wedding-reception type party and we told them flat out that they could if they wanted to, but we'd send our regrets! They agreed to our wishes for a golf game and lunch at the Cedar Hill Golf course - we had two foursomes and a few non-golfers added for lunch. The kids picked up the total tab and it was exactly the kind of "do" we wanted!!!! NO SPEECHES!!! We all came back to our place for more wine, snackies, and visiting - it was a wonderful day and we were so pleased to be allowed the kind of celebration we preferred.

Whew! Were you expecting a mini-book? hugs all, Glenda

Forgot to add: where are we going to go?

I'll be working so it needs to be downtown.

Anywhere that's most convenient for you works for me (as long as I can find parking within walking distance). Someone told me that White Spot has (maybe reinstated?) the protein burger. I just wish they'd quit with the big servings wherever we go! No wonder the world is getting fatter (or at least N.America is). Whatever happened to getting up from the table and wishing there was one more bite? Not 'cause you're still hungry but because it tasted so good and your mouth hates to quit!!

Big eyes, small appetite, and guilt leaving food on the plate - that's my major problem but I'm working on it!

hugs all, Glenda

Happy to try White Spot again.... I agree about the portion sizes. I can't seem to manage getting over the Clean Plate Club thing, which of course leads me to eat until I am too full!

Maybe we can split something?

Hi, y'all! Once again I'm in non-commit mode as August looks complicated. So please choose a date and I'll make every effort to make it, wherever you like.

Just a suggestion: a potluck picnic somewhere around Julie's building? There must be some benches and trees somewhere. (Not such a bad idea if it's nice out, not so good if weather continues as it has been!)

I wonder if they'd let us order the way Chinese restaurants do - a few communal dishes and a plate each so we could share a little of everything and just split the tab evenly?

Can't imagine why a restaurant would NOT let us do that...

A picnic sounds like a good idea Anny! Central Park perhaps, if they have tables?

So, let's try this again....

Besides Anny, who can't commit right now, who wants to go on one of these days?

I'm still "go" for any of those days, and a picnic sounds good too as long as we can be sure of a nice day! Or wherever suits everyone. Lord knows a pot-luck picnic would sure be easier on hard-pressed purses!!

As an aside, I didn't even know we HAVE a Central Park in Victoria (duh) - so .... where is it please?

Hate to admit to such lack of local knowledge, but I'm still lost! Can you give me a street and a cross-road? (I'm really blushing here!!!!!)

Somewhere in the neighbourhood of Quadra and Queens, near as I can remember...so mapquest.ca to the rescue:

mapquest for Quadra and Queens

Bay and Blanshard would be the nearest "large" intersection, or from "your" side, Bay and Cook...does this help?

Hugs!
