Default dosage for alpha lipoic acid?

what's the dosage for alpha lipoic acid? i'm 165 pounds near overweight 5'5 tall 25 years old guy.

i take 2 grams to 4 grams of vitamin c everyday. should i reduce my vitamin c intake when i take alpha lipoic acid? i read the info about alpha lipoic acid and it says it recycles vitamin c and e, i'm not sure how... does it really recycle it literally? meaning it avoids the vit. c going out thru urine?

Jtan,
"Alpha Lipoic Acid is recognized as a "universal" antioxiant, providing a great variety of cellular protection. Unlike Vitamins C and E, it demonstrates effective antioxidant activity both inside, and outside the cell membranes. Vitamins C and E lack this ability because Vitamin C is water soluable only; Vitamin E is fat soluable only. Alpha Lipoic Acid also works in the "redox" process to recyle Vitamins C and E, as well as Coenzyme Q10. This recycling ability means that it can actually help extend the life and effectiveness of other antioxidants in the body."

Hope this helps: http://www.healthandage.com/html/re...poicAcidcs.html
