Question What is the Best Pancake Mix out there?

I have tried Keto and atkins pancake mixes and did not enjoy those at all.... Are there any other pancake mixes that actually taste good? Or is there no such thing?

I have found an amazing tasting syrup "Vermont Maple syrup" delicious, now I'm searching for the right pancake mix... help!

Thanks Nana19

Hi Nana19,

I have only tried the Atkins bake mix to make pancakes only to discover I really don't like soy ! Instead I came up with a recipe for pancakes using whey protien powder. They are very easy and really wonderful.
I posted the recipe here under the heading of Protien Pancakes.
http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=97860. [URL=http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=97860]

I mix them right in a pyrex measuring cup with a fork ( lumps are OK) so there is hardly anything to clean up. I hope you'll try them.

Nana19,

PS: I just re-read the recipe - It does mix a little easier if you mix the baking powder into the protien powder before you dump it into the wet ingredients.

I got this recipe off this site.. can't remember the thread. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty good.

2 eggs
1/4 SF soy milk
2T ground flax (can use more if desired!)
1t vanilla
1t cinnamon
1t splenda

Mix together and fry in butter!

I saw on the back of the Atkins Pancake/Waffle mix that you can substitute sour cream for the water.
I tried it and it was good
Then I put 1/2 cup blueberries in a saucepan with 1-2 TBL Splenda and cooked for about 10 minutes until cooked down and used that for syrup
It was great!!

I have tried Atkins (its OK) Ketogenics (they were pretty good) and Low carb success Flax o Meal Banana nut pancakes, they were by far the best i found them to be delicious with a very natural flavor. I would highly recommend them

I've had the Flax o Meal butter pecan pancake mix and it's quite tasty.

But if I have time on my hands I make the cream cheese pancakes with butter syrup because they are sooo yummy (and cheaper than flax-o-meal products in the UK)

Thumbs up LC Pancake Mix

I use the Atkin's Quick Quisine Pancake Mix and make waffles instead of pancakes....I'm pretty picky and I think the waffles are delicious. Sometimes I add pecans to the mix for texture and taste variation.

Can you really eat pancakes? How many can you eat and how many carbs are in there? I haven't had anything like a pancake in a long time. WHat about syrup? I'm very afraid to even try this!

I was craving pancakes today so I mixed a scoop of
vanilla low carb protein shake with a couple eggs
some cream and water. Just enough so it looked
like pancake mix. It was good with sugar free
syrup from walmart 's diabetic section. Try it you'll
like it.

I tried Atkins 2 carb pancake mix and syrup when I started 6 months ago. I was so revolted that I assumed low-carb pancakes were off my list for good. They were so bad I have been too afraid to try anything close to a low carb pancake. And I loved pancakes. But o-Joy.....

Rosemary's recipe is Excellent! I'm going to try to mix up the dry ingredients in advance so all you have to do is use 3 TBL mix, 2 TBL oil, 1 egg, and cream or water to thin.

I recounted the carbs and only came up with 4 per batch using Naturade vanilla protien powder. Am I missing something? here is the recipe and my count:

2 tbs oil 0 carbs
1 egg .6 carbs
1 tbs Splenda 1.5 carbs
2 Tbs Cream .8 carbs
1 scoop whey 1 carb
.25 tsp b. Powder 0 carb

Also Springtree makes a good SF maple syrup I got at Mal Wart for this recipe.

My favorite is the mock french toast made with the crushed pork rinds.:
