Default NYC Here We Come!

We're from South Africa, and my wife and I will be visiting NYC in two weeks time for the first time. We'll both still be on Atkins Induction while we're there. Any hints/tips from anybody that will make it easier (practically) to stick to low carbing while we're there?

You can get any kind of food in NYC. Many restaurants are familiar with no carbs/starches Atkins and are willing to accommodate. Just ask.

I agree with Zuleikaa, restaurants are pretty familiar with Atkins and low carbing so you can ask for modifications on their menus. I am in NYC and went to TGI Fridays today and had a very great induction meal. A wedge salad and a half rack of ribs with zucchini, water with lemon. It was quite tasty and all under $20.

NYC has food of every cuisine and to suit every taste under the sun. In restaurants, eat the same low carb way you would at home, just ask for what you want or ask them to leave the carbs off your plate. Prepare to be bombarded by the sight of carbs, however, just walking around sightseeing. There are pretzels, hot dogs, burgers, ice cream everywhere, literally on every street corner. But there are just as many corners with fruit, kebabs, fresh raw nuts, and water. The people of NYC are generally thinner than most other places, at least in my experience, so if they can do it, you can too....or it might just be all the walking! Wear old, comfortable shoes.
