Default Itchy rash on arms and legs

trying to figure out if this could have any connection to a low carb diet. It seems really unlikely since I'm not doing or eating anything really out of the ordinary, but the timing coincides with my fat fasting to deepen ketosis. It looks like hives on my arms and legs. It is driving me crazy trying to figure out a cause, since research shows it could be from medications or vitamin supplements, to dietary, to something I touched, or maybe even changes in temperature!

On the fat fast, Did you eat more of or anything different than before? Dairy and peanut sets them off for me, even if no gluten at all.

No personal experience but There other threads about rashes when in ketosis. Here's two: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=450897

I get hives and even my eardrums itch if I eat flaxseeds (or Omega 3 eggs of chickens fed flaxseeds) or more than ~2 TBS of coconut oil or some tree nuts - have you increased any of these to increase your fat intake?

Or have you used any new soap or laundry detergent or anything else chemically around the house?

I think I figured it out! I've been using Eucerin lotion, and I think I'm allergic to lanolin. Didn't think of it right away since I've been using it for a week, but it probably just took a few days for the sensitivity to build up.

Thanks for letting us know...so much for those dermatologists recommendations It could be any ingredient, and with some brands the cream has different ones from their own lotions, but my guess would be the mineral oil. Think that is a more common irritant than lanolin, a reason why I use to use Cetaphil cream, though that has another petroleum product. The answer to all my skin sensitivities now is straight coconut oil...use it in cooking and rub it into skin. Just saw dermatologist and she had to agree that LC (no wheat) and coconut oil was working fine for me...I sent her the section from Dr Davis's new Wheat Belly Total Health on skin rashes.
