Default A very late Christmas Present

Yesterday I awoke to find out my dear wife had laid 2 pairs of pants on the arm of the chair in the living room so I would find them before getting dressed. They still had tags on them and are 6 -8 inches smaller in waist than the pants I have been wearing.
I tried them on and they fit like a glove. Talk about happy. I had continued to wear my same fat folx clothing I always wear. No new stuff as I went down in weight. I had become Bubba of the Baggy Pants!
Since I leave for work at 5AM I did not thank her til later in the day for the new pants she had gotten me. She said she did not get me NEW pants. These were given me for Christmas 3 years ago and were too small then so they were never worn!

I told you I had pants in sizes from where I was (still not comfortable saying what size that was...but I am keeping the pants as I swear to you I doubt anybody would believe I was there...and that they fit tight!)...and down to a size 32 waist (just one pair and they are from 1983 and have never been worn). Most of my stuff is from a waist 60 down to a waist 42. I would like to be a size 36 or 38.

But ya know what? For today I will take the size these new OLD pants are and smile from earlobe to nostril. A 3 year old Christmas present brought a smile inside and out!

This weekend I will check the closets and see if the Easter Bunny left any shirts.!

I'm only about 30 pounds down, but I'm wearing stuff I'd written off, and I need a different belt. Isn't it just a great feeling, putting on something that did not fit before? I have a leather jacket that cost me about $400 new--hadn't worn it in three years because I'd outgrown it. Today, I'm wearing it to work.

Too bad, though, that the nice leather jacket will be way too huge by the time I'm finished. Such is life.

The very best thing - better than scales - is finding than you can wear smaller clothes - because scales lie sometimes but being able to fit in clothes you could not wear before is truth. Yeah for you and for your wife - for digging those pants out. If I put my hand too deep in my and my husbands closet, something would be sure to bite me Jellogirl

Yee Haaa MrE, your post sent a chill up my spine! That is the best feeling to be able to comfortably wear smaller clothes. You deserve a medal for heroism if you don't already have one.

What a wonderful early/late? lol Christmas present!!!!!!!!!! It's things like this that can give a big boost of inspiration...
I found a "winter coat" mind you that I had only worn a couple of times due to weight gain...I was tickled to find it in a dry cleaner's bag at the back of my closet....Ya never know what treasures we may have stored some where!
