Default Crunchy Cheese "Chips"

I tried these cheese "crackers" and they are wonderful! I used a smoked swiss/cheddar blend and just put the cheese slices on a stoneware plate. It took a total of three minutes and another 15 minutes for them to cool enough to handle. They popped right off the plate with no problem.

Even my DH thinks they are just super and now I have to make a few slices every night to go with our pre-dinner salads.

Had an idea that I'm going to try next time we plan on going to a movie. Since popcorn is "out," I'm going to cut each of the cheese slices into four little squares and microwave them until they are crisp...viola! CHEETOS!

Default Wonderful

I decided to give these a try thinking sure they are good lets just see. I can't believe how good that turned out. Dh went crazy over them. But you have to watch you can eat to much like a chip. So don't make to many. What a great idea to have them with a salad. Thanks for all the ideas. Janet

Just wanted to share what I did with
these last night...

nuked provolone cheese in microwave until crispy... let cool.

Place on cookie sheet, top with T. spoon of spaghetti sauce and layer of mozzarella cheese and a bit of diced turkey.

Put under the broiler or grill and until
cheese melts. Perfect little pizzas! (and round too!!)

I've also used the provlone to make taco
shells (nuke until done then as soon you
take them out bend in the middle) Fill with beef or chicken, lettuce, grated cheese. Perfect just as good or better than the real thing!!

Default Mmmmmmm !

I can't wait to try some of these....I'd like to make up a few from different cheese and they'd be a great TV snack - if I can keep the dog away from them - lol!

Thanks for a great idea.

I can't believe this is a recipe--I thought I was just being a slob in the kitchen, not resisting the cheese! LOL! I got up from my computer and tried this with two kinds of cheese, and then experimented with sprinkling on herbs and tiniest bits of crushed red pepper, and then had to make myself stop. Yum! My husband won't believe this! Thanks so much!

You should be able to bend it while still warm. Here's a thread with more ideas for using cheese to make crackers, taco shells, taco bowls (for salad ) .. etc .. Crispy Cheese "crackers".

hth,

Doreen
