Default Hello - new Paleo here

Hi all

I tried the Atkins diet about 3 years ago and lost about 15 pounds on it. When my wife got pregnant, we stopped it, and since then, I gained the 15 back, plus another 15. It's time for it to all go away. I've been looking around here and there looks to be a lot of helpful people here.

I've been reading up on the Paleo diet for about a month and have decided to start. Yesterday was my first complete day on it. I am doing it pretty much as written, but am including some dairy (I was a farm kid from Wisconsin.. that explains alot )

I also HATE exercise for the sake of exercise. I love playing sports, but hate running just to run or sitting and biking. I know I should do more (we even went out and bought a $300 recumbent stationary bike (I have a bad back and hips) but it sits pretty stationary.

I'm hoping to move forward and get back to my old self.

I agree with you about the exercise. I feel like a freaking hamster in a wheel at the gym. Dance is the only thing that holds my interest.

It's kind of like Atkins, but no phases. Just a lifestyle change.

Eat: Meat, eggs, veggies, fruit, nuts (not peanuts or cachews), berries

Don't Eat: Grains, Starch, Sugar, Dairy

Pretty much, think of what people used to eat before we became an agricultural society.

Here is a link to more information.

Wow - 12 years later and I'm back where I started.

Hi again! I'm not going to be quite paleo this time, but it will be pretty close. Probably paleo with a bit of dairy sprinkled in and maybe a potato once in a while.
