Hi Elizabeth!!

I don't think your goals are unrealistic at all, but what if you set smaller, mini ones at first. That way when you achieve them you can go onto another one. If I tell myself that I want to be 150 pounds and weigh 190, that's FORTY pounds I gotta drop. That's discouraging to me when I'm only dropping a couple pounds a month. Ugh.

But, if you set a smaller goal (like I want to drop 15 pounds by then end of July), then when you reach it, it's like YAY!!

You can do this ... this site is great motivation and support! Hang in there and drop us some notes if you have any questions or anything!

Elizabeth, your goal is totally realistic!!! All of us turtles are here to cheer you on. I agree with setting mini goals - they will keep you sane. Find a reward for yourself as you reach each one.

Stay in touch.

In hindsight I've realized my mini-goals are just getting down to the next set of digits... 210..200..190..180..and now I'm in the 170's and REALLY looking forward to 160's, for me.. its much more do-able mentally then just sticking out a number..like, "I'm going to lose 20 lbs..". Maybe pull out a piece of clothing that fits small now..and keep trying it on daily..next thing ya know..they'll be fitting. That's also helped me tremendously.

Mini goals are great.... I set them for all kinds of things - weight, exercise, etc. I find myself waiting to buy a certain something until I reach a mini goal - like I will buy a new pair of pants if I get to the gym 3x a week or whatever the goal of that week is.

Whatever it takes, right?

Maybe do what I did and make your first mini-goal Onesville! 199 pounds baby!
