I have just finished reading Principle I and II, but I am still confused about which way to categorize myself. I know it is important to start the right plan but it is quite expensive for me to get the adrenal testing.
My blood sugar has been previously tested and it is within the proper range (I understand this is not completely accurate...).
Is there a default I can go with (like insulin sensitive/adrenal burnout)?
From the questions in the book I seem to fit in a bunch of different plans. I do not have any diagnosed diseases, but I am definitely addicted to sugar and have fat around my middle.
my doctor was low carbing and sugested it to me...
when i went for my check up he was agast at the weight i had
lost, seems he fell off the wagon. now he going to start again...
my cholesteral was 151 when i started and is only 160 now with the fat intake, my suger is 100-118 which is good.
my bones and joints stop hurting and my headaches went away
after I got the sugar out of my system (9-14 days) i now never crave sugar.....
i eat mostly broiled fish, chicken meat, cheese, eggs and a few green veggies
As I recall, if you're not sure which plan to follow, and are unable/unwilling to have the testing, she suggests you follow the insulin sensitive/burned out adrenals plan. It's in that book, so look it up and make sure I'm right.
You're right - those lab tests aren't cheap. You mentioned reading Books I and II. But have you read III (The Program)? Each book seems to get a bit less technical, and The Program seems to concentrate more on categorizing without the need (in many cases) for the testing.
That said, you'll not likely harm yourself by assuming the worst (Insulin Resistant/Burned Out Adrenals). That might take longer for you to heal if you aren't actually in that state, but don't know.
