Congrats!! We have a maintenance weekly weighin if you'd like to join us.

I too, find that my heavy walking schedule weekdays helps my body maintain its losses.

I just re-started low carb after a year away. I'm excited yet terrrified, because I have such a long, long road ahead and it really feels IMPOSSIBLE! I, too, have cried myself to sleep because the feat seems way to large!

.....but after reading your posts, especially Judy and '2007', I am very encouraged and inspired

Thank you for sharing and good luck with your maintenance, too. I hope to join the ranks of 100 lbs lost sometime next year...God willing.

Julia~
Congratulations to everyone here!!! Ten years ago I started Atkins and lost 140 lbs...then fell away and tried a vegan/high carb plan and have, over the last five years regained 80 lbs. I am starting the paleo woe tomorrow and am really looking forward to getting this weight off again. It is scary but also so very exciting and I know we wil succeed. Wishing you the very best on your journey....am so glad to be back~

I did it! I just reached my goal weight, and that means I've lost 104lbs. I've been this size before (once upon a time, before having kids), so it isn't that new to me, but I still notice that now I can cross my legs comfortably or sit with my knees to my chin (like a kid ), and it's still awesome to be able to walk into any store confident they'll have my size!
On the other hand, I do get cold much more easily and my bones tend to hurt when I sit/lie on a hard surface... fat has its advantages, I guess.
I hope I'll be able to maintain this weight now - it's going to take some work not to let myself slip into an "I'm not fat, so I can eat whatever I like now!" mindset, but I can't imagine being 285 again. Couldn't walk a mile without my feet hurting, had to buy plus-size clothes (most of which are horribly frumpy), people assumed I was a lazy glutton - it sucked.
Congrats to all the triple digit club!

Gosh, I haven't been here forever. Anyway, I have for the most part maintained my losses for about 4.5 years now. I've been as low as 140 but tend to stay in the 150's and unfortunately also go back and forth into the 160's at times. Maintenance is certainly not easy, but as Judy says, it is possible! I'm not sure that I'll ever get this down 'perfectly' but that's OK...I get a little better at it all the time and finally feel confident that I have all the 'tools and resources' that I need to never have to go back to where I was!

i started out at 462 pounds I'm now at 300 pounds. All by eating low carbs. The only thing i do regret is not having photos of myself done while i was over 400lbs even though Ive lost a lot i don't see it. Other people around me see it and i notice it on clothes i wear but when i look at myself i just don't see it at all.

Congrats! Good job!

I hope that you take pics now so that when you break into Onederland, you'll for sure be able to see a huge difference.

I know I'm not alone in saying that seeing that, helps me "see" me doing it too. Ty.

Exactly! when we can visualize our heart's desires, we can make them our reality.

You're very welcome!
