1. Protein shakes arent mentioned in the book. I dont see what it would hurt as long as u had fat free milk with it ( or water)

2. my fav snacks.....hummus with veggies , cheddar with some nuts ( and I have been counting them out & not just mindlessly shoveling ...lol)
ham or turkey roll ups in spicy mustard always seems to stop cravings for me.

3 , for now the only yogurt allowed is plain. I think its that way thru the diet. The flavored has alot of added stuff in it . The new book has a good topping for yogurt recipe that I am going to make today. I will post results & taste later.

4. Lunch ideas......left over chicken......always my fav. Beans soups , broth soups. Cut up veggies with some kind of dip or dressing & some cut up meat or rolled up ham or turkey.

Hope it helps.

Hi,
1- yes you can have protein shakes in all phases, just make sure that the one you get does not have any added sugar in it.

2- Phase I snacks are as plentiful as your mind can imagine. anything can be a snack. You can have a small salad and toss in a hard boiled egg. Hummus and veggies is nice too. I'd not eat cheese and nuts together though as thats way too high in fat. I take 1 oz of cheese as a mini snack.....1 tbs peanut butter on celery is another good one. I've been having 1/2 cup cottage cheese lately with chopped fresh veggies on top.

3- I do a lot of pre-cooking meals to freeze for easy access. I like to cook up a bit pot of chili for easy lunches along with chicken veggie soups. I also grill up 2 lbs of chicken breasts each week for a quick toss into a salad. It really depends on your life and what's easy for you.

Hope this helps!!

Cottage cheese with veggies is good. I think some chives would be nice too.

The whey protein powder is acceptable, not shakes from a can. You can make your own with the whey into a smoothie.

If I may , EAS makes a good protein shake.....powder. If your a big fan of them , and use alot, they have bulk ones in the warehouse stores.

I like chewing , so I dont usually make em , but I do have some on hand for when Im in a rush ( and plus when I did Atkins I used it in some recipes)

Thats a phase II recipe, not phase I, right?
Even if its not, only 1 oz of that is the allowed portion size.

You can put it into the recipe thread pinned at the top of this forum...Thanks!

I have a ton of Unjury whey protein that I bought quite a while ago. It's supposed to be very good, I just could never 'get into' drinking protein shakes. I may have to change that now though and give them another go. I really liked the fact that they had an 'unflavoured' one that you could add to bump up the protein of pretty much anything.
