This is the first part of my success story...I still have some work to do, but I have made it very far in a short while.

First off a little background, I am a type 2 diabetic...and my blood sugar had always been a struggle for me to control. At first i was on several different meds...metformin, and some others (cant remember all of them). In January of 2004 I was admitted to the hospital for a dangerously high potassium level...my blood sugar was actually fairly decently under control at this point, but it was determined that my medicines were causing me to go into lactic acidosis which was causing the high potassium level. So i was taken off all of my meds except prandin and also put on Lantis insulin, i only take the shot once right before bed.

This is where i became serious about wanting to lose weight and keep the blood sugar under control..i made some progress with different diets and dropped my weight down to 250 ish down from 270. Then in december of last year i discovered another low carb diet called PSMF. This is basicly one gram of protein per lb of LBM , 6 grams of <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.srch-results.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=51&k=fish%20oil" onmouseover="window.status='Search for: fish oil'; window.parent.skeyphrase='fish%20oil'; if(window.event){window.parent.sevent=window.event.srcElement;} window.parent.timeout = setTimeout('doMouseOver()', 1500); window.parent.isOverLink=true; return true;" onclick="window.parent.isOverLink=true; doMouseOver(); window.parent.skeyphrase='fish%20oil'; window.status='SEARCH FOR: fish oil';return false;" onmouseout="window.status=''; if(window.parent.timeout) clearTimeout(window.parent.timeout);window.parent.isOverTip = false; setTimeout('closeiframe()', 900); ">fish oil</a> a day and basicly nothing else. You refeed with fairly high carbs once a week to keep your metabolism up.

With this diet the fat just melts off you. From the pic in my before, to the last pic was a span of only 2 months!!! The fat just melts off you and you can see visible changes from day to day.

I got down to 225 at my lowest...then my metabolism crashed because i had been dieting so long so I switched to a maintenace diet to try and gain some muscle. This worked pretty well...and i topped out at 250. I have since started another cutting cycle and intend on going down to 200. I am going to take as many pics as possible...to document the changes.

With all of the health problems I have to battle, I have already made huge gains and I know that 200 is right around the corner, especially with the help of support of you guys and some others on my bodybuilding board i frequent www.wannabebig.com.

Also my hemoglobin a1c test at last check is below 6!! this is amazing for me since my tests were usually in the high 7 or 8 range..
