What am I doing? A combination of things I think that has created the "perfect storm" of weight loss.
Working almost up to 16 hours a day. On the weekends I sit and work on my laptop or grade papers mostly. This week our AP decided our CR discipline was and issue. So, I set up some new strategies for incentives and consequences. It took some creativity but I enjoyed it. I'm also studying for the ESL (English as second language) exam certification.
I don't eat breakfast. I just don't. I might occasionally on the weekend. I'm hungry now so I will likely have some (its Sunday). I actually made and ate chili yesterday. Its usually causes a gain for me but I guess since I only had about 1 cup and other than that I had some bologna and cheese it was not too high carb for the day. My meals have had some "forbidden" carbs but not a lot. A French fry or two, some corn chips with queso etc. stolen from DH plate. But perhaps since its just that very small amount and I don't eat much more the next meal? This has helped stop a binge for me I think. I'm also in PT. He has me doing some things...nothing aerobic but I am doing some larger muscle strengthening in my legs to help my body heal/deal with the tendonitis. BTW its working and I haven't worn the medical boot in almost 2 weeks.
Like i said, I will just ride this wave as long as I can. *insert surfer emoji*

That’s better, lots of fluid.

We picked the last crop of peaches off the trees while I was at the kids house, they are sooo delicious. Limiting myself to one a day.

FRESH peaches! YUMMY.

Hey all, I'm still here just dealing with a lot.

Bad timing for me to have craziness, is there ever a good time? I haven't been weighing, I've just been hoping.

I tried to convince mom to go to the hospital yesterday, it was a no go. I told her she was retaining water, she had a weird wheeze, weird cough, she didn't look good, she had trouble holding her oxygen levels....when she weighed she had literally gained 3 pounds over night. This is all SOOOO not good!

However, she pulled me aside and basically said that this is her new norm, and she would like to stay at home. If she goes to the hospital they can't fix her, all they can do is give her a fine tune up that will prolong this....so....yeah....guess mom gets it and I just need to shut up, but it's hard to do.

Ang - how has your week been? still super busy?

CaCO - i hope you and your mom had a good week. enjoy this precious time.

Heidi - are all the peaches gone? when i was in high school, our neighbors across the street had 2 peach trees. that was the first time i ever had fresh from the tree peaches! OMG - words can't describe how delicious they were! and my mom made a cobbler, first time i ever had one of those, wow, yum!

I am trying to refocus. Not really feeling it. Feeling in the dumps, emotion wise. also bummed the weather is turning. although, we were at our property over the weekend and the trees are starting to turn. what glorious colors! this is the good part of this time of year!

2 peaches left!

I am planning 2 trips which require a fair amount of walking and ‘get up and go’ for 2020–April and June (Amsterdam/Tulips, and Paris and Northern France), which will hopefully keep me focused on losing weight and get me back to the gym for the weight machines/strength. In short, something to look forward to and keep me motivated on losing!

I know how hard this is susumi, believe me I do, trying to keep on keeping on over the years. It’s a constant struggle. But we can do it, we must do it for our health. Maybe planning some fun things would help you too.

Onward and Downward!

My mother is stubborn, but then again I knew that. I told her she was not doing well but she wanted to wait for her Dr apt on Thursday. Well dr spent 5 minutes with her and didn’t just put her in the hospital, nope, she went straight to ICU. Her oxygen levels are just not staying stable. When she sleeps they dip more. They did a scan and saw that her lymphnodes are enlarged. Dr wants a biopsy on Tuesday of what is in them because the fluid is having a hard time getting out of her body. She was up 6 pounds in 5 days. Until then she needs to be watched closely, so ICU it is.

She honestly had no idea why I was packing up her “go bag”. This is the bag that has her bathrobe, slippers, chocolate twizlers, packs of apple sauce, sharp knife to cut up pork chops and the like...etc. no one was shocked except her that the dr ordered her admitted.

I’ll keep you posted.

Heidi - thanks for the pep talk. i will have to see what fun plans i can envision.

CaCO - gosh, sorry to hear this about your mom. yes, the hospital is a good place for her, and since she is in the ICU, it means she was in a bad way. sending you strength and peace to deal with all of this. prayers for your mom

i've been exhausted this week. this morning, i had 11 ducks stop by for corn! amazing, that is the most we've ever had. there is one sweet girl that has a bum leg and she struggles to move around on one leg. however, she knows to fly to our patio for food. they should be getting ready to fly south soon.

we talked with our mechanic this week to do some work on our motorhome. he will be able to do it next weekend, (he does this in addition to his regular job.) so we can start to plan our annual fall camping trip on our property. we boondock there, usually for about a week or so depending on the weather. boondocking means that we are using just our onboard resources (propane, generator, water) without being hooked up to any utilities/services. our property doesn't have electricity or water, etc.

The biopsy was delayed because they are trying to figure out a way to do this as safely as possible. They are bringing in a special team of anesthesiologists that have experience with high risk people. I have been told in very clear terms this is a HIGH RISK procedure for her and she may never wake up. The problem is, without the procedure they have no diagnoses to move on, so it has to be done.

Hi Ladies!

Just checking in. I’m feeling some mojo returning after a major eating fest. I went way off the rails but I’m ok with that. I haven’t weighed. I think I’ll start a new thread for November daily weighers on an Atkins focused thread on the old site starting Nov 1st. I’ll post a link here when I do.

Hope CaCo3 and her mom are doing well.
