Default So stupid!

So after a week of struggling to show ketosis on the ketostix, I finally peed lavendar last night. Then at about 1am for some unknown reason, I got up and ate a banana, and now its back to no change on the stix.
Why do I do this to myself?? UGH. Sorry, just had to vent! I'm upset because I needed to be in ketosis to try my new supplements that have rice flour in them, to see if they're going to have an impact. Now I have to wait a few days.

I don't know your situation as far as if you have kids in your house or whatever, but I simply don't keep high-carb stuff in my house, including fruit. If my husband wants something that I don't want in my kitchen tempting me, he keeps it at his office. In my kitchen, you'll find unsweetened almond milk, cheeses, multiple kinds of meats, frozen non-starchy veggies, almonds, sugar free drink mixes, diet sodas, an overflowing spice rack, and a bunch of condiments (mayo, sour cream, butter, oils, creamy dressings...). I keep a few Atkins bars around for "emergencies," but that's about the junkiest food I have. Makes it MUCH easier to not self-sabotage when there are no temptations sitting around. If I need (or want!) a snack, I usually just grab some cheese, pepperoni, or almonds.

Excellent.
Much easier to change your environment.
If it's not there, you can't eat it.

Progress not perfection.

I do have a 5 year old and a vegan boyfriend so this stuff is always around. I mean, technically on my primal plan its allowed, I'm just mad at myself for messing up my ketosis that I needed set up for a specific purpose. I think it was triggered by eating pine nuts with dinner. Nuts really spike my insulin and make me crave like crazy. No more nuts for me!
