If bacon causes fluid retention and the resultant weight gain
how come it is so easy to gain the weight and such a long time to get rid of the fluid retention

Bacon doesn't bother me at all, one way or another. I eat it
every single day

On June 3 I gained 2 pounds. I wonder when those 2 pounds will go away.

I wouldn't mind if it went up one day and down the next
but when it seems to hang around and hang around . . .

I gave myself 6 months to lose 20 pounds - deadline June 21
Still have 7 pounds to go thanks to the recent 2-pound gain

Discouraging when I compare it to the 80 pounds I lost in 2007.
I may be older and wiser but my fat cells seem to be wiser too at not leaving me.

Could it really be due to my bacon consumption?

My experience is that bacon or cured ham weight goes away in 2 days. Of course that's just me and YMMV.

Yes, I had noticed that.
It does surprise me that eating at or less than 5 gm carb/day
2 meals a day - modified IF
taking Lactoferin & kelp - among other things
my fat cells are still hanging on

I don't have such a bacon issue.. more of a dairy issue. If I start eating dairy regularly..my weight starts creeping upward.. even if my carbs are low and calories are ok.. something about dairy and me... oh the power of cheese. I have to give it up again. I just gained two pounds from it.

And no two are alike.

I've also read that during periods of low atmospheric pressure we weigh more and during high pressure we weigh less. How much? I have no idea, but I'm not going to eat bacon and then weigh myself during a hurricane

I'm currently staying away from pistachios because I suspect my hands don't like them. Even though I do

I wonder where you heard this and whether it is a true fact

If it is true, then I had better check the thermostat before I weigh myself and only weigh myself when the pressure is high

LOL

The theory is that in periods of high air pressure you are more buoyant in the air than in low pressure.

A similar thing happens in water, which has much higher pressure than air, and tat is why people can float in water. You are more buoyant in water than air.

Salt water has more pressure than fresh water, so it's even easier to float in salt water than it is in fresh.

I read it in one of the science pages I visit.

You need to have a barometer and weigh yourself when it points to high

I believe if you climb on top of a high mountain you will weigh less because you are farther from the earth's center of gravity.

So perhaps I'll eat my bacon on K2

Bob
