Default a question for the zoners.

Hi I am new on the zone. i know that the ratio of P:C:F should be 30-40-30.want someone to help me understand what happens when you have less carbohydrates than required.eg. if for a 3 block meal, the protein and carbohydrate mini blocks are 3 each but i consume only 1 mini block for carbohydrate. i know this is a weird question and i dont intend to do this but just want to have a better understanding of how the diet actually works. what will be the effect of this on the insulin levels? and why does it it throw you out of the zone and hinder weight loss? would like to know how your body reacts to this meal verses a zone freindly one. i know its a stupid question....but was making me wonder so i asked.thanks

It would be common to experience hunger by pushing insulin levels too low by not consuming enough carbohydrates relative to your protein amount. It is not advised to drop carbs without replacing the caloric deficit with fat.

No question is stupid, however, your profile does not indicate you have read any of the many books written by the Zone originator, Dr. Barry Sears. Many questions, including those you asked, are answered in his publications.

Thanks zone coach. To be honest i went on the zone after checking Dr sears website, and reading the articles on it, to understand the block system. After that i was using "Zone Runner" software to plan my recipes.
Since i like following this plan, will definitely get one of his books. i realise that it is important to read his book, to follow the "Zone" correctly, and have a better understanding of how it all works.
