Default 100g of Carbs

In my opinion, a moderate amount of carbs is 100g. What do you all think? Do you think you can still lose eating 100g of carbs and exercising?

100 g is what I'm trying right now, but I'm moving into maintenance. Eating this many carbs and still lose weight? I guess this depends on how much a person has yet to lose - and how much a person exercises. Compared to the average American diet, 100g is pretty low, and I think, a very healthy way to eat as long as those carbs are all unrefined.

I agree that QUALITY of carbs is key here. Also, calories will likely matter more with the higher carb plan.

Default I agree

I believe that 100g of carbs can result in weight loss...this is based on what I have read and started to experience in my own life. I found a lot of good info in some articles I found on a bodybuilding site....based on those articles, I had decided that I was going to "low carb" by eating 50-100g of carbs most days, 100-150 carbs would be my "maintenance" level based on my weight. I have found that staying in the 60g range is very very easy for me, and on days I do that, I am at the low end of my calorie range and still not hungry. Learning that made me get onto the whole "low carb" bandwagon in the first place.

I hope there are others out there doing the same thing as I am, so I will have some "buddies" here! (This is my first post!)

I am trying to stay on the higher end of low carb. Mostly because I do believe low carb is the way to go, but frankly...to be honest...I love bread. So the higher carb count may allow for some of that now and then. (quality counts, of course)

I am going to start The Belly Fat Cure by Jorge Cruise Sept 6. It allows up to 120 gm carbs per day or what he calls 6 serving. It also limits sugar gm. to 16 per day. I will be posting on The Belly Fat Cure diet thread, so you might want to check in there to see how some of us eating more mod. levels of carbs are doing. I may end up eating more in the 80 gm area, depending on how in control I can feel with that many carbs. Hope to see you there.

Susan

I'm sure it will vary with the individual. From years of experience, I can still lose..but slowly...up to 60gm of carbs so I stick to 30-35gm.

For me I can lose eating anywhere from 50 to 150 g of carbs. I aim to hit my daily protein and calorie goal and let the rest of the macros fall where they may.

I think it is very much down to the individual, I found that 50 carbs was perfect for me, and I lost a good amount of weight regular, like someone said above I too love bread, and can't live without it lol! Just see how it goes, it depends how responsive your body is to how many carbs you consume I suppose.

I've lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks by keeping my carbs at 90-120 and sugars below 16.

I just started the Belly Fat Cure way of eating. What a breath of fresh air to be eating good carbs. How you doing? This something I wish I had checked out earlier. I am so happy to have Ezekiel bread again.

Ezekiel is a sprouted whole grain flourless bread made by Foods for Life.
Its sold in the frozen section of most health food stores. Whole Foods carries it too.
I also like the Genesis variety and they make a nice English type muffin too.

Good bread, but note that because it is flourless, it is NOT gluten free. I called the company hoping!

I can, but only if I stay grain-free, dairy-free and practice intermittent fasting.
