Is there an active thread for this woe? I've just discovered it, and I'm looking for others who are following this plan.

TIA,

I just ordered the book. I only vaguely know what the plan entails, so I'll be both awaiting my book and watching this thread closely. (Running off to bookmark thread)

No one has posted on this thread since Feb? I just ordered this tonight from Amazon. Is it a good diet or did you guys drop it? Or is there another thread started up?

I did it but dropped it. My personality seems to have morphed over the years into "all or nothing". I just can't do a finger-size sliver of cake to stay at the 30 grams limit or what-have-you. It's better that I control my carbs overall.

That's just me.

Suggestion: It would be great if you could edit the first post in this thread to include just a tiny bit about what the plan entails... would maybe attract more general readership. (Just as there are SO many plans out there and it's hard to keep up with what's what.)

I've just read the book and it has proved interesting reading for people who are insulin resistant.

Has anyone any feedback on the plan ?

It's more like a life long food plan than a diet as you don't count calories and can indulge in carbs.

The authors state that it isn't feasable to live without fruit, vegetable and pulses as they promote good health due to the antioxydants that they contain.

I'm trying this once again but with very restricted wheat. I am keeping any wheat at all to a bare minimum (or none at all on many days). So far my hunger has gone way down but I notice my fat is up too high for IR...so I picked up some FF plain yogurt today, some turkey slices, etc. to sprinkle in there along with a lot of vegetables.

I'm surprised that this time, with low or no wheat, my hunger is way, way down compared to last time.

Yes, it's meant to be a permanent WOE. That's been my eternal search..."the" one perfect way of eating! So far I'm less hungry on my low wheat version of IR than I ever was on CAD, and for a longer period of time than on Atkins. I feel very good.

I've been back on IR for...hm...I think about a month, and I have lost 10 pounds. There's always a much bigger loss for me in the beginning; at this point I have now slowed down quite a bit (maybe half a pound to a pound this week...I'll see tomorrow). Slow but steady is fine by me if I can control my hunger and feel like I'm eating in a healthy way.

Smile Love Insulin Resistance Diet

Hey, there don't seem to be many people here. Yes, I've done this diet before and it works and is great. Maintaining can be the problem... at least my problem. But I am back on it as of yesterday and already I can tell I feel so much better. I just eat so much better on this diet. No cravings... not as much gas.. I feel so much better. There are some folks who post on the New IR Discussion over on the book site at amazon.com. If you search for insulin resistance diet at amazon and go to the bottom of the page for that book, you'll see the forums there. I don't think it has been active in a bit, but was active at one time. Anyway, I'm going to be hanging out here for a while if you want to hang out with me.

Ok, so I've been staying on the way of eating again since Dec 3 and today is Dec 8. so far, so good! Did you know you can still eat potato chips on this way of eating? Well, you would have to realize that I'd rather have potato chips than ANYTHING sweet! So, I found out I can eat like 15 Ruffles potato chips for 15 grams of Carbs, and I can have a string cheese with that to balance it. That is so cool! Now, I really don't feel deprived. If I start craving potato chips, I just count them out, have 7 grams of protein with them, and that is a snack for me. I don't have any more carbs for at least 2 hours. I think my clothes are starting to fit a LITTLE bit better. I'm not giving up!
