Default Buttermilk. Flour

I was shopping the other day for my Bob Mills Ground Flax Meal at Whole Foods Market. They have a large variety of Bob Mill products. I saw his LC Buttermilk Flour for only 7 carbs I believe per 1/4 cup and so I'm thinking about going back to buy it to use for a LC flour mix for biscuits & gravy, but I wanted to see if I could get some feedback first. Anybody use buttermilk flour? If so what are your experiences with it?

Thanks.

I googled on Bob's Red mill butter flour but didn't find anything. Are you sure you got the name right? I see buttermilk biscuit mix... dried buttermilk... but no buttermilk flour.

Do you see the product here?

I have not seen buttermilk flour, biscuits and gravy sound yummy for a weekend breakfast. Let us know if you try it. I will search my stores for it.

Sorry I'm a bit handicapped using my celly. So yeah, its just milk powder which I think would be good to use to mix with flax & low carb flours for some southern country biscuits and chicken. I could let the chicken marinated in the reconstituted buttermilk overnight to get that southern flavor & also make some gravy. Okay my mouth is already watering. I gotta give it a try.

It sounds like it'd be tasty to add to stuff like almond flour or flax. I love buttermilk!

Found it! It is called "Sweet Cream Dry Buttermilk Powder", I will be checking my store 1st before I order on-line. In the reviews it says that lacks the acid to make things rise, maybe adding some lemon juice might help with that?

Make sure it's Bobs Red Mills brand because I have seen other brands for half the price but they have 7 or more grams of sugar & Bobs has none.

Anyway, I figured if I want it I'm going to work for it so instead of driving to whole foods market I decided to walk. Round trip that's a mile walk. It was worth it.

Threw on my size 16 jeans which was a treat in itself & on my walk there a cutie pie stopped me, another treat lol, we exchanged numbers & I continued my walk.

So anyway the whole point was to make southern buttermilk biscuits & chicken tonight, but cutie pie wants to take me to dinner this evening. Looks like cooking tonight will be put on hold.

So it all ended up being a big ole treat for me afterall. I got a great mile walk in, met a cutie, & got my buttermilk powder. I'm happy. Besides I need to let the chicken marinate overnight anyway.

Never hurts to try. First you have to put on your size 16 jeans (or whatever size you wear) then walk to your Whole Foods, cutie will be on your way.
