Exclamation Anyone see 'Diet or Die' on NZ tv one last night

Man that program Diet or Die was scary It gave me a lot of motivation. The woman in Glagow (susan?) who was stuck inside and hadnt been out for 5 yrs cos of her weight scared me. I mean I am nowhere near 40 stone but as she said it crept on. Gave me incentive to go out and do more exercise today
Thank God for Atkins is all I can say.

I did see it and I felt it was very sad. The system was helping with the housekeeping and home help etc. but doing nothing to save those people. To me they seemed no different than alcoholics or anyone else with mental health problems but no one cared. That poor woman in Scotland was trying to help herself but no one to really give her a chance. Because she had got fat by over-eating she was punished. If someone gets ill by smoking or alcohol abuse they are helped and there are programmes for them. That poor woman really needed in-patient care and wanted it but all they did was pay for expensive community services to feed her, make ramps and wheelchairs etc. but nothing to help her overcome her problems - I felt so sad for her.
