I've finally recognised that I was out of control and I'm taking steps to correct those readings and get my food and exercise back on track.

Thx for your comment.

I'm glad you're taking care of yourself....best of luck in resolving whatever it was that was messing with your bloodwork!

Not to undermine the importance of veggies ... but how much vegetables do the Ekimos eat? They seem fine to me!

Looking at primitve cultures that survived primarily or only on animal foods we just have to remember that they ate bones (or in the form of bone broth) as well as organ meats to get in all those vitmains and minerals that are in vegetation. (I have not read the thread, so I don't know if this has already been covered)

So if your skipping the veggies go make some liver and broth

Beer counts as a vegetable, in a round about sort of way. However you look at it, it counts

Beer = barley = grain.

Of course, you can make beer with vegetables in it. A brew pub around the corner from me has a nice pumpkin ale. I might try brewing a batch thereof this fall!

Bloody Mary, definitely counts as a serving or two of vegetables

Caesars count as well. And wine is made from grapes! Mmm, veggie and fruit heaven.

veggies are overrated imo. you always see people saying "you cant use a multi vit/mineral formula to sub for real veggies" but really is there any research showing this?

fibre? theres evidence that fibre is more bad for you than good. when not eating veggies , folic acid is really only nutrient id be worried about.

i do eat vegtables however, mostly steamed asparagus, spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, squash.

i dont care how much good stuff broccoli has its pure torture trying to eat it as a super-taster.

Default NutriDog, Eat Fish or Take Fish Oil

NutriDog, I'm not sure if you eat salmon now, but that is great for lowering triglycerides. If you don't eat fatty fish, take fish oil capsules. That should help you a lot.
