Good Morning!

Enjoying my first cup of coffee for the day. Ahhh.....nothing like it! Had an ok day on the golf course yesterday. Still haven't found my "game", and my score is horrible, but I managed to have some fun anyway. There were some slow groups holding up the whole course, but that often happens. Just part of the game. I'll be heading back to the course around 11 this morning. Still working on the mental side of not giving a rip how I play....just have fun!

Nic........hope your dinner at TXRoadhouse was yummy. I haven't been out to eat in so long that I won't know how to act if/when I go into a restaurant.

Jaz....you will do great at the discharge planning job. You will help so many people. I just hope it's not too stressful day after day.

Sorry the housing situation in Charleston did not pan out. It would be nice if you could find something just inland from St. Simon's and then you could possibly move back to the island in off season. You'll land on your feet girl....you always do!

Trig....do you have your next RV adventure planned? Like you, I'm ready for hot weather! I want to sweat!

-------

Well, I hear DH stirring around upstairs. That's the end of my quiet coffee time. Some mornings he is WAY talkative and I just glaze over.

Have good days!

Lori- was it cold there yesterday? We had a chilly day although it did get nicer as the day went on. I was wondering how your golf was going to go. Have fun playing today!

Did I miss a post from Jaz? I don't see anything about her comments on how house hunting was in Charleston? Jaz, did you remove it? I want to know how things went!

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. My family has been very sweet about it. DD and SoIL came over yesterday morning with a beautiful tray of breakfast- LC pancakes, bacon, flowers. So sweet! Everyone did something to make my weekend special. I'm a lucky girl!

I was going to get an upgraded apple watch that has cellular but I haven't gone and gotten it yet. Still deciding.

Everyone else in my family will be playing pickleball today. My plans are poop scooping, menu planning, taking a bath and then we all go to the dinner theater tonight to see Shrek. Our first time to go in over a year!

Jaz- catch me up on what I missed!

Good Morning!

Nothing much doing on this Monday except a quick trip to the grocery store and a few other errands. Yesterday on the course was pretty much a bust. We ended up quitting 4 holes early because we had a group of idiots in front of us and then it started raining. We decided we didn't need to put up with that nonsense. I was going to play today with a friend, but we decided against it. It's chilly & damp this morning and we were going to play at 9:30....it'll still be too cold for this old chicken.

Jaz.....hope you had a good night's sleep after your trip to Charleston. I'm anxious to hear about possible new leads on housing where you are!

Nic & Trig.....what's up this week?

--------

I'm tightening up the eating for a few days to see if I can drop into a new "decade". I don't know why.....just something to focus on, I guess. I'll be doing Pahla B. workouts this week as we won't be hitting the golf course till next weekend. Gotta keep moving! I wish I could wrap my mind around getting back into running, but I'm just not there. Right now the Pahla workouts and golf seem to be enough. Once our mornings are warmer, I may get out running/walking again.....we'll see.

Time to pump in some more coffee and some water. I have a bit of a headache this morning that's probably a bit of dehydration.

Have a good one!

Nicco I hope your dinner theater was alot of fun.....give us a report

Lori, alot of slow people on the course lately for ya already? yes it would drive me slightly batty also LOL but that sure is a golf situation cause my hubby would moan about it too

New decade...that would be fab! Go for it.

Funny on your running, something you SO enjoyed yet you aren't sure if ya wanna go back to it now? Maybe your exercise videos are giving you enough of what you need and feel like running isn't a requirement as much? interesting tho to see how you might change it up later.

Jazz, you home? Give a new report, I guess you are checking your local area again for apts/rental units etc? I think you said you have a line on something? Let us know

-----------today is hit grocery and bank
home to do a little of this and that
chilly outside with next days dropping into lows of like 30? come on now HAHA SO CLOSE we all are LOL

eating is great. zc all the way. I cut out all my 'a spoonful of this or a taste of that' that I did on vacation. I feel a difference, feel so much more vibrant with tight zc eating.

got a steak today
pair with ?? not sure but I got a crab hankering...might just buy me a bad today and have at it when I hit the store, we shall see cause as much as I have a hankering, I also feel not that hungry at all so? play by ear

all good, doing my thing fine day to all

Jaz- looking forward to your new leads!

Lori- Sorry you had a frustrating golf day yesterday. I would expect that who your group gets behind would play a part in dictating how it all goes. How were the women around each other? Is this the group that had the fall out?

Trig- Glad you are on plan and doing well. Sounds like several of us hit the grocery store today!

Not much doing around here. Hit the store for the week- tonight is chicken enchiladas using LC tortillas. I try to just have one and leave it at that as overall I don't like using those kinds of items. Other than that I have planned homemade meatballs and sauce (pasta for the men), tacos (taco salad for me) and burgers. A very beef heavy week for some reason.

Speaking of beef, I'm going to whip up a beef vegetable soup to have on hand for me this week, for lunches and so forth. Tip- one of my favorite things to put in a beef veg soup is the core and stalks of cauliflower, cut up. They are great potato dupes in a soup. I will put that in there, along with some green beans, okra, diced tomato and beef broth. YUM all week.

Tonight is a call with the financial advisor, then tomorrow is podiatrist and in the evening a visit with my CASA kids, whom I have not seen in over a year! We're doing an outside visit. They will not even be the same kids I knew. Their adoption should be completed in the next couple of months and my case will be completely closed.

Hugs!

Nic....your veg soup sounds so good! Good tip on the stalks of the cauli etc.

I don't golf with the "hens" on the weekends. They were there and I waved at them, but that was the extent of it. When I would run into them would be on Tuesday and Thursday mornings when they get together to play. I'm not sure that I'll be joining them at all on Tues/Thurs this year. Too much drama. Tomorrow I'm playing with 2 of my friends at 11:30. We're playing later as I have an appt. for a mammo at 8 and my other friend has an appt at 10 in another town.

Quiet day around here. I made a trip to the grocery store this morning and then made a nice dinner(pork chops) for DH tonight. I had one of my Freshly meals.

Can't believe it's 7 o'clock already! Almost my bedtime!

Good Morning Ladies!

TRIG- OMG on the car- mine is SO SO SO gross!!!! It is a thick grimy yellow. I have put off washing it because the pollen will hit it right out of the wash. But it is almost now embarrassing. I might need to take it through a few times to get all the bugs and pollen off!

Awesome on the steak- sounds so good!
Did you enjoy your trip? You didn't talk alot about it?

Lori- I most likely beat you to bed yesterday. I think I was in bed by 8. Crashed tired!

Sorry to hear that your ladies golf group blew up! But truly nobody wants to place with a bunch of hens that squawk - nobody!
Glad to know you are loving your videos though. They seem to have hit the spot for you!

NIC-- Wow time flies! Has it really been a year since you have seen your CASA babies????? Dang they will hit college before you know it!

I am all about making a big pot of soup and eating on it all week!
I like cauliflower too. I am now wondering if you could make a really yummy "Potato" soup? I bet there is a recipe somewhere. I bet it would be Devine too!!!!!!! Toss in some crab- oh yea.... now we are talking!
-----------------------------------------------------
I was so so so tired yesterday after work. I hit the pool by 430 and I had the pool to myself. I didn't feel guilty by sticking my floaty in- it was wonderful. I let the sun hit my face. I slept so good last night

I have really been stressed over this next move more than any other move. I want to place to park for awhile and I want it near the beach and I need it affordable. I also want it no more than 6 hours from the kids- yada yada.........

So I found where I am going. Pooler GA. It is perfect! It's 15 minutes from downtown Savannah, 30 minutes from both Tybee Beach/ or Hilton Head. It is also listed as one of the safest and fastest growing mid size cities in Ga. It has all the shopping and places I need and want. Thirty minutes from a beach- 4 hours from the kids and still in GA. I LOVE IT.

I also have a place picked out. I am not a fan of apt living, but if I have to do an apt. I want it to be an upscale luxury one. I found one that was just built last year- 300.00 under my budget!!!! I have a call into them this morning.
I will visit this upcoming weekend. I will have a place within 2 weeks. I feel really good about it.

Boy you ladies have been on the tour with me!!!!!!! From Greenville, to Delaware to where I am and all the places in-between!!!!

I am on the LC train with you all- I would love to also hit a new "decade". Something about dipping into a new number is exciting! I can't wait to hit under 200. I hate hovering!

Ok gotta grab coffee and plug in and serve the "man".

Good Morning!

Trig.....yes, Gabby & I went to bed shortly after 9 last night, as usual. She woke up earlier than usual this morning....we rolled out at 3:15.

Jaz.....glad you have found a place to land for a bit! I've never heard of that city, but it sounds like a perfect location and the right price. Score!

Nic....how are the feet/ankles doing? Hope you're having no more tendon issues.

Blue.....

--------------

I had a follow up appt for a mammogram at 8 this morning. During my regular mammo last fall, the radiologist saw an area that he didn't think looked right. They had me come back the following week and there was nothing conclusive. They scheduled me to come back in 6 months instead of waiting for a year, which is what the appt was for today. Only had to have 1 of them squished and then wait for them to read it. Good news.....he couldn't even see the "area" that he had concerns about last fall. All is good. Whew!

Now I'm home and will have an early lunch and then head to the golf course to play with my regular partner and another friend of ours. Looking forward to it.

DH will have to dig something up for dinner tonight since I won't get home till 4:30 or 5. He said "No worries", he won't starve.

Have a day!

Hi Folks!

Lori- Oh good! I'm glad you can avoid the drama and play with people you enjoy!

Super glad your Mammo looks good. That is always a relief!

Trig- Yeah hopefully the adoption will go smoothly and the case will wind up. I've been with this family a long time- over two years and counting. The previous case was three years.

You are smart to pay attention to the cravings and realize when you need to eat more etc. I am having a hungry day today. I feel ya!

Jaz- Yay for potentially finding your next place to settle! How did you come across it? Very exciting for you to go and find your apartment!

••••••••••

Went back to the podiatrist today. I think I am healing up. Who knows anymore. Whomp whomp

Leaving in a half hour to do my CASA visit. It will be good to see the Littles and it is a perfect weather day for it.

Tomorrow is my Mammo and then I should be good to go for a while. That covers well check (once every two years), gyno, mammo and dentist. Go me, being all grown up!

Not much else to report. Hugs to all!

Good Morning!

Still feeling thankful that my mammo turned out ok. Whenever they "think" they see something, it is nerve wracking until they verify that all is well.

I had a good time playing golf yesterday. It turned out to be a very nice afternoon. I had more decent shots yesterday, so less frustrating. I am going to take some refresher lessons. I found a Pro just a 1/2 hour from my sister's place and I'm going next week for a series of 3 lessons with her. It is on the way to my sister's, so I'm leaving Tuesday morning around 9, stop for my lesson at Noon and then on to my Sister's. Wednesday I have another Noon lesson then back to spend more time with Sis. Thursday my lesson is at 2, so I'll hang out with DSis in the morning and then head home and stop for my lesson on the way. I just saw the weather and it looks like it's going to cooperate. I hope the lessons help. Sometimes it can totally mess you up taking lessons, but I'm trying to be positive about it. I just need a professional eye to give me some guidance. Fingers crossed.

Today I'm going to get my hair trimmed up and the gray covered. My cleaning lady comes today too, so I'll have to clear out of her way. Maybe I'll treat myself to a Starbucks iced coffee with cream today.....yum.
If the weather was going to be nice, I could go sit in a park and enjoy it, but I think we have rain in the forecast. Oh well......

Scale is stagnant. No dropping into a new decade for me this week. I feel a bit beat up and sore this morning, so I was expecting the number to be higher, but it was the same as yesterday. All good. I think I'll take today off from working out due to feeling a bit achy and sore. Trying to listen to this old body and not beat it into submission.

Sorry this was all about me this morning. Hope you all are having a good week....it's Hump Day!

Lori, yea, agree, don't beat your ol' body into submission

SO HAPPY to hear your results were good! You are right, that nagging, 'wait and come back and we will recheck' situation is never good, as much as we put it out of our minds, damn it is there just below making us worry and get all bent out of shape. Nice that stress is over for you!!

Lessons with your Sis. Sounds like a great time for you guys. Plus it might also show you something you can change a tiny bit and improve your game, never know. Nice to have future fun plans like that.

Nicco, you had me cracking up.....all your specialist docs lined up and check check check Cool, you go girl

Let us know your final CASA visit.

Jaz, yea everything is pollen thick here. My back porch, you can't touch anything from my rocking chair to my watering can LOL everything is thick yellow layer. Ugh, can't believe I am gonna say it but we need a big day of heavy rain...omg washes everything so clean!! But 1 day, not 5-7 or more LOL

-----------just doing my thing
little this and that today
not sure on food, steak and chicken. Pork tenderloin and chicken? Not sure but I better get off my azz and get something defrosting

feeling good
nothing new doing on losing a darn 1/2 lb. ain't happening. Might do a tad few changes to eating and 'see'....I don't know, I need to force off some lbs but not ever compromise my eating plan. I change anything a tad too much I go wonky cause my lifestyle is very limited, very tight ya know....so I will think on all this and see where it goes but come heck or highwater I am gonna move a lb off me LOL

be good all

Good Morning!

Lori- I love it when you are chatty! OMG So thankful as well your mammo came back clean! Nothing like those kind of worries!

I shared my hair cut! I wanna see yours! Don't you just feel better when your hair is done? I haven't done crap with mine for a pandemic year- so it was time to "freshen up".

Very cool you are going to get a few pointers for your game from a pro! You are always doing something so cutting edge. Enjoy your week next week!!!! I know you are looking forward to it!

NIC- How did your CASA meet go? Funny on being all "grown up" with those exams! Just crap we gotta do!
I am glad to hear you are healing well! You got your scar cream so you are good to go!

What does the rest of the week look like?
How is your April challenge going with you? So glad your DD is joining you in that!

TRIG- ya we had that cold snap. Trust me those are going and gone!!!!!

I hate it when those monster craving hit ya up. But you are the queen of not letting that get you off the rails. Just eat what you want Carnivore and then lighten up. Kill the crave! That should be a shirt!!!!

Speaking of funny. So when I went to Charleston last weekend I stopped at SWING AND SWINE. OMG the very best BBQ hands down anywhere! Anyway the sign they post is : VEGAN REHAB :
So what is shaking in your world today? Are you thinking about your pool opening anytime soon? My daughter opened hers last weekend.

Hiya Blue- Updates it's time......
--------------------------------------------------------
So I had a conversation yesterday with my manager. I realized she was actually the one who interviewed me and wanted me for her team.
The conversation was light and she seems nice. I will tell you though just between us I need to watch my yapper. She could easy take something I say the wrong way.
What do I mean by that? How do I put this.

Here I can just put stuff out there and not beat around the bush. She is a late 50's I am guessing, she has 15 dogs, and is a confessed hoarder (her words). I saw her pic and my mouth fell open. I think mountain woman sums it up. She would be offended if city girl comes in and tell her how to run the joint.
She ask me if I had a BSN. I said yes and 4 classes into my Doctorate.
She is struggling to get her BSN late and feels it- her words. I just closed my mouth and listened. She is single and lives in the country and is happy with her farmhouse and dogs. She has long gray hair and not a speck of make up on for her business pic.

And that is all I will say about that. It will just be challenging for me to back up and stay quiet. I do know I have a strong personality and that can be very annoying to a woman who is not a strong persoanlity. I know you all know what I mean. We are all strong ladies- we are. But not every woman is- and I have to keep that in mind.

How I picked where I will live. Proximity to the beach, distance to kids and mom, close to beach.....hehehehe- SAFE, and growing, medical services, shopping, close to a big city.
Actually it is a suburb of Savannah. However it is a safe and family oriented city in it's own right. It was rated 97 in livability and safety.

I like it because it's new and clean and tropical and still with a southern beach feel. 4 hours to the kids. Not as close as I would have liked. But you know we have to settle where it makes ME happy. I love beachy southern cities. It is my happy zone. I can't go back to bumper to bumper smog and concrete. So I can spend a day in Savannah, or beach, or the list is endless.

I am going to open all day Sat- there. It is only an hour from here. That too is a perk!
The apt I was apply for got snagged literally 5 minutes before I hit submit. So I look at it this way- then it wasn't the one for me. I was taking it sight unseen anyway. So- I will be apt. shopping this weekend!

I also have a ladies lunch this weekend. The 5 of us that have become friendly want to do a goodby brunch. We are all departing back to our perspective hometowns. Most of them are very north. One gal is going back to Nantucket, and one to Pittsburg ,and so forth. They are all snowbirds, and will fly back this way again when the weather turns cold. I am blessed to have been included in their group this year!

Ok- last cup of caffeine before I "SERVE THE MAN".
Reminds me of the song- Everybody's working for the weekend...la la la la .............. Well that is me again. working girl again! Scrappy gets a job. My new book title! HA
