It really does. When I was doing it regularly in the Spring, I was really losing steadily and consistently. When I got away from it over the summer, I stalled out. I don't want to say the stall was entirely due to not fasting--I had a lot of family events where I'd go off plan, then it would take me most of a week to drop whatever water weight I'd packed on and another week to really get back in the groove of having my insulin low and then there'd be another event. But for those of us that have trouble losing for various reasons, like being post-menopausal or Turtle Club or both, fasting can mean the difference between maybe a 1/2 lb. a week and 1-1/2 lbs. a week.
