Default Thank you so much for your support !

Hello List
First of all I would like to thank you all for the support and the welcome I got.
That made me feel much better !

It's been 4 days now , and I have lost 2kgs !
But I'm not over excited , I'm used to loose weight fast.
When I used to do the low-cal diet , I usually was loosing around 3-4 kgs per week (the first 2 only ! and later on , very very slowly...)

What I seem bizarre in this diet , is that already I'm feeling that I'm not that hungry. For example yesterday I drunk my water (around 2Liters - I think that's okay !? ) and I had 1 boiled egg and 100grs of meat along with some onion. (very little , just to bring the taste. ) and some spices.
I did not have any diet coke !that's wonderfull ! It was tough , but I don't want to jeopardize any chance of loosing weight.
I have a definite goal and I want to achieve it.
I really count on your support to help me out .
the headaches are starting, but I think it is normal as I read it somewhere. How long does it last ?

How much can I stay in the induction phase ?
thanks very much.
have a nice day.

Hi

You are doing well so far. Congratulations on the weight loss.

The headaches often occur as a result of carb withdrawal. They should go in a day or two. It is just your body adjusting. A bit like going cold turkey.

How long can you stay on induction. That is up to you. Several people stay on it for a long time, whilst others find they loose weight better at a slightly higher carb level, 20 - 30 carbs. Only you can find this out through trial and error.

Every success for the future.

Hello Pierre!

I'm glad you've found this forum helpful....that's what we're here for!!

Your headaches could also be caused by caffeine withdrawal... but Anne is right.... they should be gone in a couple of days.

Even if you are not hungry it is VERY IMPORTANT to eat regular meals at least 3x a day. You need to get plenty of calories to keep your metabolism and energy up. OK?

Dear Pierre,

I started this way of eating almost two weeks ago and I admit that in the first three days or so I had a "low grade" headache and also felt some anxiety and fear. It was not that terrible and it went away.

I am convinced it was the withdrawl from daily massive amounts of carbohydrates.

I did not give up coffee entirely. I went from about 5 cups a day to only one and then one half cup. I am willing to get rid of the caffeine eventually, but right now I don't want to be overly ambitious and change things too much.

Another thing that surprised me very happily was the lack of hunger pangs on this diet. That means, I think, that it will be much easier to sustain.

I also have a theory (and perhaps this has been substantiated by science) that eating carbs. makes us feel hungrier again quicker.

It seems as if you are off to a brilliant start and I encourage you not to give up. If the weight loss is not as quick as you would like, you can philosophize that this is much more likely to be permanent weight loss and not avoidupois that you will eventually regain.

A bientot,

Natalie
