Default Getting back into crunch mode

Well this draws to a close my WOR - such as it was. Did a little cardio here and there. Slept a little more over the holidays, but pushed it big time the two days back at work. Going to sleep long tomorrow and get my first lifting workout in since last Saturday (or was it Friday?).

Had one of those 'freakishly bizarre' moments today when I noticed that the old body has changed slightly. I think I'll pull out the measuring tape tomorrow. No whooshes but that "leaning out overnight phenomenon" is peeking around the corner.

3 weeks to go- planning some intense lifting and some long cardio sessions. I'm going to enjoy some down time on the beach as a reward. Hopefully in a few new bathing suits - taking care of that tomorrow!

Pam, Marti, Chris and Titania, thanks so much for the visits and the enouragement - it means so much!!

Night all
Nat

Default It's great being right!

Woke up to a brand new low this morning. A perfect day for bathing suit shopping! (bought 3 ) Also resumed the lifting this afternoon.

9:15 am. 40 mins cardio - mod intensity followed by 15 minutes of very intense ab work.

4:45 pm. chest and biceps - went something like this:

Chest :
Incline barbell presses, strip sets, reps to failure.
12x45 lbs (warmup)
7x95 lbs
8x90 lbs
8x80 lbs
7x80 lbs
10x70lbs

Incline flyes, 3 sets, pause at peak, 12 reps each time

Biceps :
Incline alternating curls, squeeze at peak
8x18lbs
8x18lbs
12x15lbs

Concentration curls
8x18lbs
5x18lbs
8x15lbs

Hammer curls
10x15lbs
10x15lbs

Lots of stretching followed by "Free meal" - rotisserie chicken w/ gravy, and a plateful of fat free french fries with ketchup and vinegar.

Hoping for some pain tomorrow !

Masochistically yours,
Nat

Wow! 3 new suits?!? That's great. Too bad we can't wear them up but summer, watch out! Here we come! Yee-ha!

Thanks for your advice. I think I will follow it on lowering the carbs and upping the fat. I guess I'm still a little gun-shy on the fat so I've been trying to reduce it or get it even, percentage-wise with protein and carbs.

Looking good chicky-poo! Love your workouts!

Titania, not sure how, but I missed this one! Thanks for the vote of confidence. 48 inches still kinda astounds me - how could I have let it get that bad? It's amazing what we refuse to see when we look in the mirror, isn't it? So this year I'm making an effort to see the good stuff that I've worked so hard for. Not all new year's resolutions have to be tough, right?

Pam, isocaloric (33/33/34) is something that I think would make a great maintenance plan - and it's pretty easy to follow w/o too much planning too. Fat loss requires a little more macronutrient manipulation, IMHO. More fat, less carbs or less fat, more good carbs, less calories. More fat and fewer carbs is a lot easier to plan and carry out of the two.

You'd think 3 new suits would be enough ay? I have this itch to buy another one. LOL.

Can't be a machine, I don't think they get sore. OMG I was in pain yesterday. I hadn't done a chest workout in ages and those flyes always get me big time. It hurt to put on deoderant. It hurt to try to put on deoderant. Gonna do legs tomorrow

I have a feeling that you're going to see some impressive results in the next few months. You're male, you're young and you're new to this - all big pluses.

Keep postin, toots.

This is day two of the mini challenge - AKA 3 Weeks til Mexico Challenge. I was up at 5:30 am. and I did The Cardio:

5:55 am. 35 minutes cardio - mod to higher intensity.

Even managed a little bit of stretching. May get another cardio workout in tonight (HIIT maybe) then it's out to find some shorts! (and maybe another 2 piece )

Hi Nat, I'm being nosey and seeing what you're doing for your routine. A trip to Mexico...and a 2 piece! What wonderful goals! Thanks again, you're a big help to me! Are you sore today too? I'm a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.
